Features missing from MK9 that are present in the first trilogy

What? By 1 player vs CPU you mean single player right? Sure, tons of people always played the old MK's two players but uh... they did have a single player campaign where you play vs the CPU... or are you talking about something else?

Well, I mean single player as in, not doing any of the ladders. Just as you would play a two player game except player 2 is actually CPU. So you'd still get to choose the level you play on and who your oponent is going to be, but after each match, you have to choose again. Are we on the same page? :)

The same "rule" should go for handicap and a endurance matches. These things should have been standard since 10 years.

Yeah, if I recall this was in MK Armageddon. I was almost positive it would be in MK9. I have no idea why it wasn't. Sometimes I want to set up the matches exactly the way I want. Pick opponent and stage. It would have added a lot more replay to it.

Ah, yeah we are thanks for clarifying.. no none of the old MK's had this I think the ones that do have it in general across the entire series is probably in the minority. Although MK4 for the home is where they started putting in a practice mode where you can beat up on a second either non controlled or CPU controlled second player as much as you want but I know that's not the same thing.

The practice mode in the home version of KI helped me learn all the combos in that game though speaking of that.
