it makes everyones brain ache because they havent really fixed this. like if kitana throws her fans at you, she should either have to walk over to the other character and pick them up (sorta mk4 style) or they should just fly back to her. they would only have to fix this with some characters. you would want them to make things realistic, yet jax and stryker have guns with infinite amo that never need reloading. id just prefer if a character had a weapon on a fighting game that it would be like a sword or knife or something that doesnt shoot something.

I get where you're coming from, but it seems like a petty thing to complain about. Sure, it doesn't make sense, but neither does 75% of MK's past and present. Plus, I remember the weapons system in MK4 being a major flow-destroying aspect of the combat. It made more sense with projectile weaponry, but it also really disrupted the gameplay.
