lol i wasnt too happy about Kabal's death either and i didnt even realise that C-sub zero died(must have not been paying attention), this is mortal kombat though hopefully they will come back, characters seem to die more than kenny does :P
 
I wasn't happy about Kung Lao's death. But at the same time it kind of gave off the feel no favourites were safe and after that moment it felt like Mortal Kombat turned a new chapter.

I felt killing Kabal was a bit off. They gave him a cool story. And he was kind of cool with a redemption.

Smoke was a bit weird all that work on making him not a doomed robot yet he still ends up dead.

And Sub Zero. What's happened to the legend of Sub Zero now? I knew in Part 1 the original was supposed to be killed off(I think that's Bo Han), because he becomes Noob Saibot. But then the young brother(Bi Han) gets turned into a Cyborg and then gets killed off. all that work in making a different Sub Zero and you still kill him off?

I'm hoping when Noob got sucked into that Soul Nados or whatever his soul reemerged with his original form. And he will be returning as Sub Zero in MK10.
 
Did anyone notice Scorpion never died? Bummers for Smoke, he's my fav, and Noob my second, but of course Scorpion never dies. Makes me a little bit happier lol.
 
JADE for the most part to at least take Kitana's place as the other female heroin. Also, I was hoping that Kitana would survive with Liu Kang so they can become queen and king. Sindel and Kung Lao should've survived too.
 
I almost positive that most of the cast that died in MK9 will return in some form or another, maybe NRS will pull the Onaga stunt again, and have him resurrect everybody.

I think its safe to say most of the characters will come back. if not, then no one would want to play MK10. of course theres the 20 or so people that like Jarek though, they might still play it.


answering the thread question : I would have much rather seen Lui Kang fight Shao Kahn instead of Raiden at the end of the game. I was dissapointed when he died, and I wish It would have been the other way around
with Raiden dying instead of lui kang

Actually the original Sub-Zero was named Bi-Han and his younger brother's name was Kuai Liang.

Back on topic: I was a bit put-ff by Smoke's death. He was overhauled so completely, kept human in a move that pleased some fans to no end and then they killed him off...odd...

Yup he'll ressurect the dead, making them be corrupt with evil. If so, I hope I'll be able to play as Kitana, Jade, and Sindel.
 
You really think they are dead? This is MK people, characters never die. It's like comics :P

Anywho, I didn't "approve" Noob, C-Subby, Jade and Kitana's death. Although I'm OK with Liu Kang's.
 
Having replayed story mode and watching the massacre over again, combined with the arcade endings, I'd dare to say that Kitana, cyber Sub Zero, Smoke, and possibly Kabal would more than likely ressurect if their souls are liberated, Kitana wasn't fatally wounded-she had her soul consumed and if Ermac is Jerrod in the next game it'll be very likely she'll be back, CSZ was electricuted-nothing one in the MK universe can't ressurect from, Smoke doesn't need a body- he's that bad@$$, and possibly Kabal since his respirator was damaged-and those can be fixed.
 
Sub Zero, Kung Lao, Noob, Smoke and Kitana. IMO they are not dead since Quan Chi resurrected them like Scorpion and Sindel i just prefer the good characters as good and the bad as bad not all of them to serve Quan Chi.
 
The only cool deaths in the game were:
- Shang Tsung - I actually like him, but I thought it was very depressing he ended up being sacrificed without even realizing it.
- Noob Saibot - it was a great way of killing a undead (nonsense much?), LOL, seriously, I found the scene pretty cool.
- Nightwolf - Epic, epic, EPIC!
- Sindel - Epic, epic, EPIC!
- Kitana - she should have been the only one killed by Sindel, very frustrating to see her mother killing her.
- Liu Kang - completely unexpected.
- Shao Khan - I actually found Raiden's plan to be quite good, he shouldn't be able to invade Earthrealm if he had already lost 2 tournaments.

Awful, AWFUL DEATHS!
- Kung Lao - PATHETIC. Him being killed by Shao Khan to give Liu Kang's strenght to beat the final boss would have been MUCH BETTER.
- Jade - pointless death, there was really no reason for her to be killed.
- Stryker - same as above.
- Kabal - same as above and even more pointless when he actually had a cool story.
- Smoke - same as above multiplied by 1000.
- Cyber Sub-Zero - the most pointless death ever, so much cyber crap to kill him later?
- Motaro - LOL, just... LOL

Characters who should have been killed instead:
- Kintaro - no point whatsoever.
- Sheeva - no point whatsoever.

Keep Goro, Baraka, Mileena and Reptile, since I actually see them being important in the future.

I also didn't like that most characters died in MK3 storyline, because it felt NRS just wanted to get rid of as many characters as they could get.
 
^ Kintaro has much relevance to the story, he is a Shokan champion (like Goro, he replaced him in MK2), Shao Kahn's personal bodyguard, and is the reason Kabal is the way he is now.
