Can we kill the word spamming please............

I am getting so sick and tired of people oversusing that stupid word! Its one thing to use it when it is clear that someone is just doing one move over and over repetedly with no variation at all. But, just using special moves isn't spamming. I mean its how you use them. Its not just about combos either. I mean you find your own way of winning and thats your tactics. If somebody keeps winning using that strategy why would they change? I mean if that was the case then you can follow suit and beat them the same way or just use skill and overcome it.

A lot of people love MK because of those special moves. If you wanted to play a special move-less game pick up DOA.

I get so tired of people complaining. Everybody doesn't play the same. Everybody isn't a combo guru or even wants to be, just like some people don't like using a lot of special moves. To each is own. I just can't get on here without hearing someone saying that word in every other sentence. Spamming is not cheating unless it is a glitch exploited. If its not then its fair game. Get skills and stop crying! P.S. Noob is annoying to a lesser extent but isn't really overused like Spamming is.
 
That's true. I think the word is being used a bit too liberally. Like, I was over at a friends house just the other day, and I told my friend that Noob Saibot will spam the crap out of his teleport throw, and he was like, "Don't act so high and mighty, you were spamming too".

I didn't know what to make of that. Apparently doing anything more then once in a match constitutes as spamming... I used teleport stomp a few times throughout the fight, but I wasn't using it over and over again in a row. And three fireballs isn't spamming either... It especially ticked me off, because I throw in Sheeva's normals more then any other character I play with.

This made thread made me smile. I'm a Noob Saibot player and someone earlier accused me of spamming my specials. Not _a_ special, just my specials in general. I couldn't help but laugh. If I can't use my specials, what the hell am I supposed to fight with? I can understand if I was spamming a single move over and over, special or not, but that was far from the case.

I've just resigned myself to accept the fact that some people are going to ***** about anything when they lose.

EDIT: Not *****, complain...they're going to complain about anything. I feel silly that I got censored by the swear filter.

oh the great spam debate lol

my household has this often when my roommates play. my roommate plays sektor and only uses the missile, and my friend gets so annoyed LOL. Of course my roommates biggest issue is he will verbally go on how he sucks at the game or a certain character and wipes the floor with you....yea my friend cannot stand that. I normally hide when they play LOL and he'll say it for other characters and he doesn't spam their moves. I feel he spams sektor cause he knows it is annoying LOL

I think I lose more matches because I focus on NOT spamming lol. I'll do a move and then sit there to try and figure out other moves to do so I don't use the same move and those moves either fail or are weaker and by the time I feel ok to repeat a move I am doing awful health wise. lol Granted I feel in the end it helps me branch out and try different moves.

I am curious what do people consider spamming?

using 1 move repeatedly
using a few moves repeatedly
using 1 3-button combo repeatedly
 
I personally love the word "spamming" but I agree with the context of your post, Ruckus. Not gonna lie, I start spamming moves if I am in a world of trouble, its instinct. Theres always a way around things, if you cant get around it, then suck it up and move on to the next one.

Whats up Taj. You were always one of the regulars I saw on here that I am familiar with. Hey, I gotta get your gamertag for whenever the servers come back up we can fight. I am so ready to get online. Somebody please post when they are actually playing online.
 
Spamming to me is using 1 or 2 moves repeatedly. Especially special attacks.

I play at a friend's house a lot, since I don't have my xbox in my dorm. He plays Ermac and Smoke a lot, because he's a fan of teleport moves. Generally with Ermac he uses a set of moves over and over (force lift and throw, sweeps, uppercuts) but it's not really spamming. It still annoys me, but I try to stay calm because it's not that bad. With Smoke it's basically teleport punch and the smoke cloud constantly, which is spamming to me. He usually uses the punch 3 or 4 times in a row and then zones for an opportunity to smoke cloud. It's not that hard to counter, but it's annoying that he doesn't try to expand and try different attacks.

I have another friend who's basic strategy is basically to duck block and sweep/uppercut when you get close and to spam teleports constantly. This is really annoying because he doesn't use any other attacks unless button mashing.

tl;dr: Using the same 2 or 3 moves constantly with no basic attacks other than uppercuts and sweeps is spamming to me.
 
The word "Spam" isnt going anywhere man. Its been overused long before this game was released and itll continue to stay. It may be annoying but its set.

If your doing NOTHING but special moves and not even attempting combos, then you must abusing one or two moves over and over. If you want to continue playing this game then you'll have to improve because those people usually get demolished. Unless you're only playing with friends who dont seek to improve then thats fine.
 
Stangea -- your avatar is freaking me out! I can't stop looking, but I have a feeling that it will appear in my dreams tonight...

Spamming stuff -- If Shao Khan can do it then I have no problem with it. If you can't fight a "spammer" then pull out another character and annihilate the "spammer". Projectile spamming? Get a character that can teleport. All is fair in the battle. If the input works it's legitimate in the game. Go look at the top players in tournaments and the bottom line is to WIN regardless of how the battle is won. Personally, I like flair in the battle and I appreciate the people who go out of their way to win a match in a spectacular way. But putting that aside, my feeling is that the term "spamming" is an excuse for losing. Does Shao Khan care if I complain that he's spamming his shoulder charge/spear/hammer? Nope, he doesn't give a **** about my opinion. The only option is beating him and throwing the double middle fingers at the screen while he explodes. There's satisfaction in that...
 
I dont see why some people complain about spammers, The way how I see it some people ***** when they cant stop a spammer, in MK there is lots of ways to counter a spammer, in MK if you get beat by a spammer its your own fault and you need to practice more on how to counter it, thats like saying a Boxer only wins because he throws the same punch every fight, if it works every fight why change it?, just like there is a counter to every punch in Boxing, there is a counter to every move in MK , Its one thing if the game doesn't allow you to counter a move and people abuse it then I could understand, but we all know thats not the case with MK, IMO that word spamming for video games originated from a sore loser, just practice your defense people

The worst one I heard on this forum was 'spamming xrays'. How can you spam xrays? Even if you loose through out the entire match of 2 rounds you cant fire off 6 or more like they make it sound
 
People who base their fighting style around a constant barrage of special moves are horrible. IE: 90% of people who play the game. I've also yet to encounter a skilled Scorpion or Ermac player.

They get worked so hard, and it's boring to face people like that.
 
I get this alot. Because I like to Zone with my projectials... The idea is to win and to me as long as you are not cheating have at it! Go ahead use the same move over and over, if I lose by that then I deserved it! IMO
