bored!

I feel sorry for you rocky, i know you have been posting on here for a while and have been really looking forward to this game.
I also belive u purchased a ps3 just for the MK demo? If so what a true fan.

But to reply to you opening thread i totally understand its your opinion and you are entitled to it.
But for me i feel the game plays out very fast , smoothly and responsive. Its everything i expected from the Vids etc, truly happy with it.

As for the moves being easy to pull off, they are basically the same as any other of the previous MK games, they are all usually easy button combinations for moves. Usually down, back, * . or back , forward *. So to me that point is invalid, they are the same as always.

Im trying to think of a way for you to give it another chance and grow to love it like most of us do. Yes cage is the easiest to use and most fluent on the demo. Sub-zero is the slowest and probably the lamest, as in 2d he can hide behind a ice clone counter attacking for most of the fight, i find him the most boring to fight. Scorpion was my worst out of 4 when i 1st played the demo, many hours later i find him to be my best character. I dunno what to say really, give it a couple of hours of gameplay and re evaluate. If you still dont like it then i feel bad for you. Hope this helps.

Dont get me mistaken I know what you were saying and while absolutly true the appropiate way to present the information is by making it as simple as possible IE the three punches.

I wasnt including x-rays being tossed onto the end of the combo's but your right, also I had posted (somewhere) a week or so ago that if you delay adding your x-ray onto the end of your combo (just a split second) it doesnt count it (numerically) into the combo anymore but still scales down the damage.

I had some fun playing around with how much it gets scaled down per # of hits.

On your 11 hit are you using her pop up (x2) to start it or starting it with punches or kicks? I was more refering to starting it with punches since that what we were talking about.

yeah most of the ones ive done are pop up x2 or pop up then uppercut

^^ Yes, this Rocky! :D

I've been playing UMK3 for about a week before I could access the demo. I was very disappointed in the demo's AI, but the multi-player is very fun. I do agree that the characters feel a bit clunky, but that has been reportedly fixed in the newer builds.

Definitely going to pay off my pre-order so I can pick this up at a midnight release.

@Rocky, sorry you're not enjoying the demo. Maybe you can demo the final game and decide if it is for you or not. Worst case scenario: you don't like it and save $60.

That's not the worst case scenario. If he decides he hates the game, he spent out on a new tv and ps3 just for this game.

Don't be discouraged. It's only a demo, not the full game. Keep that in perspective. :)

yeah that does suck; but even if he hates the game at least he's got a PS3 and a new tv; both kick ass!

i wish i could buy a new tv; a 55 inch tv to play this on instead of my 32 :'( lol

just got the demo, played around on it for 5 mins, got bored switched it off, none of the hits felt like they connect well, when you lay into someone the hits just dont feel satisfactory or painfull the charactors just bounce around like crash dummies :(

i also think the moves are a bit too easy, i did a bit of mindless button bashing with mileena and she was performing allsorts of crazy stabbing moves

not really impressed with this demo, all the hype was for nothing

i, 100%, agree with you. i found the demo boring as well.

I just have one thing to say, its an OLD ARSE OUTDATED DEMO!!! which means, the final version will be FASTER, LOUDER, SHARPER GRAPHICS, MORE FLUID ANIMATIONS, AND COMBOS, FASTER RESPONSE TIME. You have to remember this demo is only like 500 megs, its a very very low quality file. They had to tone it WAY down in order for us all to download it with reasonable time. Its like comparing standard VHS tape to Blu-Ray DVD. Also this demo is not running in full 1080p.

I disagree with everything Rocky has said. I have no idea what he's referring to when he says that the game feels "heavy". As another user said above, this game is VERY smooth. Apparently this demo is of "an old build". Is that's the case, the full game is going to be glorious. It's very hard to think that the game could look and play better than it already does.

But hey, at least you have a new TV and the best Blu-Ray player that you could get. Congratulations!

Rocky if you play it with a friend it's a whole lot better. If you play against the AI it gets boring in seconds. The demo is supposed to be easy as not to piss of the journos playing it and writing up a bad preview.

Quote from Ed Boone: Every fighter in the game plays differently, has a different style and way that you play them.

This is the best MK game since MK - UMK3, the combat is much more fluid and faster then Armageddon & Deception etc. Its not Street Fighter, the game mechanics, the engine, its all different. You might like Street Fighter more then MK from what I got from reading your post. In Street Fighter characters play differently too, some are more offensive, some more defensive, some have charge playstyles (Balrog etc).

If you liked MK Deception and still do not like this MK then I am at a lost for words. On another thought (different response), Subzero and other characters looks, animations, fighting stances get changed in every MK game as of late. Scorpion is about the only consistent character for the most part that does not get messed with as much it seems like. So you may of liked say Sub Zero in previous games more then you do in this game, as I love NoobSaibot in this game (& someone else :] *coughs*) but hated how they looked in Deception.

So yea like everyone else said, wait for the game to come out for sure

I'm happy your happy with the demo :) It's gonna be a whole different animal when the full thing comes out!

My only complain is the lack of a run button ... Other than that, the demo was great and played smoothly ... Yah the AI was dumb and easy as Hell (even on Expert), but the game's focus is on online.

Speaking on my behalf, I can't wait until I get the game.

Sad part is, I'll probably get it early May. I preordered from Amazon, and it'll take around 10 days to get to where I live. It was either "wait 10 days for the Kollector's Edition", or get the regular on time. I want the KE, and don't believe in buying two copies of the same game (plus I can't afford it :p)

How are you holding up over there in Bahrain?

How are you holding up over there in Bahrain?

Well, thing's are getting back to normal. Most people are back at work and some schools are reopening.
Haven't heard those damn helicopters in a couple of days, but might be just my area.
The next couple of weeks will decide where things go.
