StonedSour said:I concur with Anguish, because of the rapidly changing genres of 'rock', msot people can't distinguish what is rock and what turns out to be emohop trip-metal.

I think people who can't pick a facorite band are weak and indecisive. But that's just me.
My personal favorite band would have to be AC/DC, closely followed by such greats as Metallica, Sublime, Hendrix, Floyd, Alice Cooper, Sabbath, Ozzy, The Beatles, Motorhead, and Motley Crue.

I'm a huge NIN fan, but Trent Reznor can't even begin to compare to the greats listed above. He would be WAY out of his league.

60's: Beatles...changed music forever; no contest.
70's: Floyd...more musical genius in their music than anyone else I can think of. Best band ever.
80's: Tie between G'N'R and Metallica....the two most influential bands of the 80's.
90's: Nirvana...once again, a band that changes music forever. We went from hair bands, butt rock, to grunge/alternative.
2000's: ?

I don't really think theres a best band, but theres some great bands out there past and present. Bands like AC/DC, Alice In Chains, Black Sabbath, Godsmack, Guns N Roses, Metallica, Nirvana, and Rob Zombie/White Zombie.
