Best Horrorr Flick!

I don't really like The Nightmare On Elm ST. movies, I think they're more comical then scary, like in Part 3, where the Freddy puppet starts walkin' around, I laughed. The ones that scared me the most the the Friday The 13th movies, especially Part 6, although that movie scared the crap out of me, I loved the 007 spoof. The Shining scared me a bit, too. Like the part where Danny's ridin' throught the house, and you see those two girls, that shizzle gave me the shivers!

I watched "The Grudge" late last night. I really enjoyed it! Some really creepy moments. The scary woman was a bit of a Sadako/Samara rip-off.
But I enjoyed it all the same.

Jeepers Creepers
Hannible/Silence of the lambs
Friday the 13th (series)
The Ring
Freddy Vs. Jason

Jeepers Creepers has always been a great movie. Hannible and Silence of the lambs speak for themselves. Jason is my favorite Horror movie star. The ring wasn't scary, but it DID make A LOT of sense to me, which is something in a blue moon so I guess I like it. Lastly, Freddy Vs. Jason- Nothing much of a horror movie, but it did tie both my favorite genres (horror/comedy) into one not to mention...Jason.

If you like Sci-Fi and Horror combined, check out Event Horizon. It's one of my favorites.
Aye, Paul W.S. Anderson actually made a decent flick with that one.

I'm going to lose a ton of karma for this...

Ok, how old are some of you kids? I dont want to sound rude, but some of your movie choices as "favorite horror movies" are upsetting. Jason X and Jeepers Creepers have to be two of the worst movies ever. Not to say that every person posted crap (fulchi=god) but a good amount of the movies that were posted came out pretty recently, and are just crappy copies of past horror flicks.

Now, in an effort to both educate and gain some love in this community, I will compile a list of some of my favorites.

First, some newer ones that I liked:

28 Days Later: I dont believe nobody mentioned this, probably my favorite in the last few years.

Fallen: Denzel and Demons. Good match. Not a total horror movie, but still prety scary.

Identity: A cool slasher flick with a rediculous twist.

Malevolence: This movie is relatively new, and is part of a 3 part series of movies. Picture Jason living in Leatherface's house.

And now the classics:

The George Romero Zombie trilogy: You dont know anything about Zombie movies if you dont know these three movies. A cookie to the one who can name them.

Dead Alive: Directed by LOTR director Peter Jackson, it is the story of the attack on New Zeland by a "rat monkey", whose bite turns you into a flesh eating zombie.

The Birds: Hitchcock is a genius. I love the cheap bird effects(especially when the sparrows enter the chimney)
Movies that you guys said that I like : Silence of the lambs, Psycho,The Ring (kinda), Signs, Event Horizon,Phantasm (incredible), Ginger Snaps, and BTW, THE GRUDGE WAS SO PREDICTABLE. Those undead asians were really creepy.

Freddy vs. Jason.

It's what I fantasized about all through high school. The Springwood Slasher taking on the Camp Crystal Lake Killer. It'd be dope if a sequel was in the works!

it is :D they wanted ash from evil dead to come and sort both of em out, but bruce campbell declined, as it said in an interview with bruce himself in the metro newspaper this very morning. anyway, my favourites.

nightmare on elm street series
evil dead series
sleepy hollow
n i guess interview with the vampire, its one of my favourite movies ever, but i dunno if i'd class it as horror. better than the book by far, although they should have left in the bit where he fights the revenant

My mother... She watches horror movies, and if she were reading this post, she'd answer "The Exorcist." I can't blame her. It's a classic.

.. I just noticed that on the first page of this thread, someone said that their favorite horror flick was The Shining... The Shining!? The first time I heard "Tony's a boy that lives in my mouth." I was not only shocked that the little boy didn't crack up, but I was laughing my ass off..

Sorry, had to say that out loud. Back to my innocent self.
