Baraka Thread - *Ching Ching* "RAAAAAR!"

Hello everyone! I'm new in the Mortal Kombat, and I guess it's my first Mortal Kombat game..hehe)
I didn't know what character I should pick and picked at random)
Anyway this is the first combo I tried to perform:
ToP, dash, OW, (Insert Special)
and in my opinion it's pretty inconvenient combo, because after performing you are far away from your opponent and you can't get closer to him before his waking up.
Instead of this combo it's better for me to use this one:
ToP, dash, 3, Slices
You'll loose only 1%, but it's easier to perform and you will be able to chase your opponent after performing the combo and then to continue your attacks to push him to the wall and then...He's a deadman.

I see...So how long it takes to master a combo? When I say to master I mean to do it perfectly every time you have a chance.
 
well just mastering the combo is only half teh battle, then you gotta set it up, hit a moving target, etc. But just memorizing combos and having high execution? I don't think it takes long at all. But all people are different. The unfortunate thing is, currently, online the timing for Baraka's (along w/ just in general) combos are different enough to make you miss your window and get punished... sux
 
Found out after like an hour of trying to do a combo that I'm not supposed to use the third hit on OW in combo's... Would be useful to have that info in the OP :P

It takes me a while typically tho maybe I just pick chars that are diff to do combos with? Csz's split kick cancel into slide after popup. Reptiles dashwhiff followed by njp. Kanos got one string I practice a lot some reason I have trouble with it. I still practice these evedryday /sigh. Noobs easy at least:p. Good stuff here btw I'm looking @ baraka to possibly use. He's interesting
 
I dunno, but for some reason even after only using him for a few days I get really good results with Baraka. I think he might just become my main -- although I also get good results with Sindel who I also don't know much about yet. So I'm looking at both of those now.
 
Thanks Bware. Part of your corner combos helped me out before I made a slight change in the end by doing the X-Ray instead. Here it is:

2, 2, 1+2, B+3, 1, B+3, 1, 1, 2, 1, X-Ray - 15 Hits 48%
2, 2, 1+2, B+3, 1, B+3, 1, B+1, 1, X-Ray - 14 Hits 48%
2, 2, 1+2, B+3, 1, B+3, 1, F+2, X-Ray - 13 Hits 47%
2, 2, 1+2, B+3, 1, B+3, B+1, F+2, X-Ray - 14 Hits 49%

I've been pairing Baraka with Sektor.

Sektor puts them in the corner, Baraka keeps them there.

If they get out, back to Sektor.

Rinse and repeat :)
 
good corner combo: B+3,1 B+3,1 B+3,1 Uppercut-7 hits 33% damage
Corner: 2,2, 2+1 B+3,1 B+3,1 uppercut-35% damage
Corner: B+3,1 B+3,1 B+3,1 X ray- 10 hits 46%
when not in a corner 2,2, 2+1 X-ray is your best bet with 8 hits 39% damage

In the corner your best bet is definitely B+3,1 for combos
 
Mid screen 43% X-ray:

2,2, 1+2 dash b3, 1 X-ray.

The dash is tricky to get off, but its doable :)

Add a jump in punch an extra 3%.



This combo looks awesome because Baraka flips them in the air, then rushes over and catches them on his blades :)

Yeah a little tricky but not too bad. I got it after a few tries.

EDIT: I just came up with one that does 1% more, HAH! :P

10 Hits 47%: Jump Punch, B3 1, B3 1, Dash, F2, X-Ray.

Got another one that's 1% higher than the last. Instead of F2 do B1 1.

You really should put in the OP that EX blade charge will go through many projectiles(I.e subbys ice clone) This is his main weapon against zoners
 
If you loop B3, 1 three times (timing is very strict), you can get 10 Hits, 46% Damage with his X-Ray, going to go try it in a Corner.

Tried to get a fourth flip into it, no dice. While possible to do this one Midscreen, it's basically as easy as pushing the buttons in the corner.

Also, 5 hits, 20% damage:

B3, 1, Dash, 1,2,B3

Found a "better" version of this, IMHO:

2,2,1+2 > B+3,1 (2xs) > F4

It's only 30% damage, but ending it with F4 denies them a Wake Up Attack, which, I don't know, I just have a problem with.

Tried it demetri, the timing isnt that hard(at least offline).

Here's some good tips for baraka to maybe put in OP:
Use Chop Chop for teleport spammers as(at least online) he will get them coming out of their teleport so they will stop spamming that move. If people are just blocking lie an idiot either do a B+3,1 or 1,2 B+3 to get them out of their block. Baraka's EXblade charge will go through projectiles so use that often.

Found a 71% Corner Combo with two resets in it:

2,2, 2+1, > B3, 1 (x2) > F4 (31%) ~ B3, 1 (x3) > F4 (28%) ~ Throw (12%).

31 + 28 + 12 = 71%

Sometimes it reduces itself to only 69%, though :/
 
This combo the OP put

2,2,1+2 - B+3,1 - D+4 - Xray does 43%

But if you dont do the D+4 wich is too hard, it does 43% too

2,2,1+2 - B+3,1 - Xray, does 43% too.
