Baraka & His Blades

This is my first thread I've made on this board, so please go easy on me. Also, I'm a Baraka fan.

We've now seen Baraka's head. He is definitely in the game. My question is, how should he use his blades? Like in MK:DA-MKvsDC where they were a fighting stance? or Like in the older MKs where they only came out for certain moves (i.e. Blade Swipe, Chop-Chop, etc.)?

I personally think he should go back to using them on special occasions to keep the enemy at a distance and punish them for getting close like in MKII.

Thoughts?

I'd have to say as a separate moveset like in MK VS DC. It was cool having a bigger diversity for the moves.

Like the old games no doubt. No one needs multiple fighting styles in the MK. These is the MK to get back to its roots. What I'm wondering is what the x-rays of his arms look like.

That would be interesting. I wonder if there will be little metal bits sticking off of his radius and ulna and where the large blades comes from. We'll have to see Scorpion snap his arm at some point in the future.

I could go either way. It seems like the characters with weapons like Mileena, Scorpion, Nightwolf and Kitana work them into their basic attacks seamlessly. Even Sub-Zero makes little ice weapons. So, that'd probably make more sense to stay consistent with everybody else. All that said, I agree that he was fun to use in MKvsDC because of his ability to bust out his blades, effectively making him the only character with multiple styles like in MKDA-MKA. I'm not gonna be the one to say that system wasn't at least a cool idea, so if they went that route again, I wouldn't complain.

I liked them as an extension of his fighting style like in MK8, myself. I've never had so much fun with Baraka as I did in that game. I even hope they keep his MK8 head for the new game - its already flawless.

I don't think we will be seeing what his arms might look like x-ray because havent seen an x-ray move yet that showcase the forearms breaking its all been about the head and body so far.

They should only come out for blade moves, and make a nice knife-sharpening sound when they jump back into his arms.

^^ This.

It was indeed fun to play as Baraka in MKvsDCU. I've never really been a fan of Baraka, but his fighting style in MKvsDCU is cool, and his kombo challenge was one of the first ones I finished. But it probably would work making him like the rest in MK9, with blades coming out only in certain combos and special moves, which is most probably gonna happen, because NRS already said that's how they're doing about weapons, no different stance or fighting style.

Yeah, but in the new X-Rays video, there's a picture showing some damage on skeletons, and there are arms and even legs broken. I'm looking foward to see these X-Rays with limbs being broken. =D

I am more inclined to say that they should only be used in combos. That, and special attacks and fatalities. It would be more consistent; and I think Baraka, when in a fighting situation, would use his hands more and would only take out his blades to finish the victim off.

BTW, I don't think that head will be used in MK9. It could have been used early on as a fill-in because they hadn't come up with a final version yet.

Also, Baraka's blades should be bone and not metal. Some people prefer the metal, but I say WTF because it makes little sense like that.
