Bad News For Jade

so...I was playing with Jade online last night and I tried to go for one of her resets. I comboed in staff overhead, then b 2, then dash cancel 1 2, then dash cancel 1 link into ex reboomerang down. the boomerang whiffed the 1st hit of course and when it hit the 2nd time around, my opponent was able to block immediately after being hit. I didn't think to much of it because I thought online was ****in up. because of jade "big suprise" coming in an upcoming patch, I decided to go back into the lab with her. I tried to do the reset again, but it didn't work. I have auto block on and the reset is supposed to work if the 1st boomerang whiffs and the 2nd hits. but it didn't work. I even pit hitbox into account and thought since I was practicing on skarlett, maybe her hitbox is too small. so then I decided to practice on sheeva since she's much larger. I went for the reset again, no luck. so I cornered sheeve and did f2 1 2, 1 2, 1 link into reboomerang low. the 1st hit whiffed and the 2nd hit and I pressed 4 immediately after the hit and sheeva blocked. I'm not a super advanced fighter with jade but I'm very good with her but that's the main resets I go for. so I think jade lost her resets guys....
 
I can't believe it...I was really wrecking with her reset, I'm gonna try it for myself, not saying your not legit , but I like to see things for myself...brb

try it man. I hope I'm just missing something and I hope I'm wrong. I love her resets...but I tried landing that reset for like half an hr and i couldntt do it
 
This is depressing news indeed.

That patch isn't out yet right? If the drop of the reset is the surprised I'll be pissed. If we get that rumored staff grab unblockable I'll be content.

o.O I JUST picked her up like 2 weeks ago, I HOPE the surprise isn't no resets...All around, I think shes a good character, but besides a couple buffs here and there, she should be left alone.
 
no the patch isn't out yet. cyrax still has his resets so I think this was just a hotfix. but her resets aren't there guys. I keep trying. but maybe, for the sake of balance, they got rid of the resets for a huge buff she may be getting, hence the rumored staff grab unblockable

Let's just hope that whatever they have in store for her is epic lol. I'd really like to add her to my mains.

Jade was my first main and I admit, I barely use her now. Maybe I should pick up the emerald warrioress again.

I don't understand characters like Baraka and now Jade getting things taken away. I don't think I ever saw anyone complain about their resets, juggles, yet they are going??
 
Jades reset won't even work if they know what they are doing. All the opponent has to do is watch jades meter if it goes down block low when the boomerang comes back.

this is true. jade's reset is a 50/50 mixup. well..it used to be. even if the opponent gets hit by the 2nd hit of the boomerang, they can still block the next oncoming hit immediately
 
Ok so I went back to the lab with jade and the reset didn't work...im highly upset with this because I was starting to play Jade more than my Shang, but I'm still gonna use her just gotta work harder ftw

yea man...I told u. sucks. but like I said, maybe they took the reset away for the sake of balance because of a huge buff she might be getting. she may get her vanishing winds back, she may do more damage now, she may get get that running move she does during her xray, and its rumored that her staff grab is unblockable now. nobody complained about her resets so idk y they took it away...only thing I can think of y they did it is because of a huge buff.
 
Lol that isn't a reset that is gimmicky at best. It relies on the opponent standing up and getting hit with the EX low boomerang on return and then continuing the combo. But if they lie down and delay their wakeup, they can block the low boomerang. Any move that hits grounded opponents like Kabal's sawblade, or nightwolf's f3, they'll be blockable. The only thing that is a guaranteed hit on grounded opponents that delay their wakeups are overheads that hit at ground level like Jade's staff overhead.

And for comboing after the low boomerang hits, are you sure you're doing a normal quick enough? Like1,2 or something?

The only guaranteed resets are cyrax+smoke. The rest are a very small window 50/50 mix up. You're right it would never work against a pro that knows what they are doing, they'll take the pressure over taking 37%.

But it's still a small trap that links two big combos together that actually ATM works on more people than you think.

yes I'm sure. I tried every normal she has. she can no longer do the reset. but now that I think about it....it really isn't all that. comboing into the reboomerang during a juggle does set up a 50/50 situation still. so reboomerang into low attack/throw/staff overhead is a mixup game she can play with the opponent. plus, a block reboomerang leaves jade at a frame advantage anyways so she can keep pressure.

And trust me, with Jade as my first main EVER in the game, I have tested that SEVERAL and SEVERAL times over

EDIT: The low boomerang is used to pressure your opponent into crouch block, and while they commit to that, you can start pressure with her overhead from max range.... It is used as a mixup... Not a reset...

In my experience, the EX low only guarantees off of a naked f212... Of course, IF they get hit by it on rebound

ur soooo right lol. I just tried it and it still resets with mid and high reboomerang. but I always did low reboomerang and I could've swore it reseted. but I guess the opponent just never blocked lol. welp...my bad ha. plz don't hate me
 
I don't see why Jade would get nerfed to be honest. She's probably one of the most balanced characters in the game and she can be deadly if right used, I actually consider her the best female, yes, even better than Kitana and Mileena. Jade has tools that really impress me.
