Armageddon Bios Ended for This?

I was a huge Mortal Kombat fan for a long time. To be honest, I don't think the new game idea is good. I loved Freddy VS Jason, and liked AVP. But when you combine things; they should be, you know, somehow similar. Otherwise, it's really, really, really, really, really, really, really, hard to get it right. And, to be honest, considering Midway's track record over the last couple years; I don't think they have what it takes to do it right. They can't even understand how to please their own fans with their own characters anymore; how do they even think they can handle combining two franchises? I am content with Armageddon being the last real Mortal Kombat because I actually liked/loved the game. (Still deciding if I like or love it.) I also loved MKT, UMK3, and MK2. I liked MK1, and MK4, (And probably Gold if I ever play it.) And I kinda liked regular MK3. I don't know if Mortal Kombat into the future will be ruined or not, and I really don't care either way. Because, for me, the Mortal Kombat I grew up with ended fine with Armageddon. But, to be honest, the whole VS thing, in this context, with this company, seems like a bad idea from the start. I'm just sad that they stopped finishing off the original story, the Mortal Kombat Armageddon bios they were releasing online, so they could better focus on this VS. A VS which already has ticked off a large number of the base base and will likely be the death of the franchise, or at least a heavy blow to it, if done bad. And, with Midway how they've been lately, it probably will be done very bad.

Dude, there will be more stand-alone MK games, they aren't gonna release every new one with a new franchise for Subby to beat the shit out of. Jesus, why is everyone overreacting so much?

You're a DC fan, so of course you're into this. Many, if not most here, are not. It's hard not to see this as the total bastardization of a once great franchise.

If we were getting a real MK game along with this, then I wouldn't care, but it doesn't look like we are, and you can't deny that this is NOT a real MK game.

exactly.

Batman, ok cool

superman, too powerful and doesnt make sense

batmans bad guys, cool

the flash - what a loser, we already have kabal, we dont need flash.

wonder woman - dorky version of kitana

this sucks

Except Wonder Woman uses a whip. However I agree that people are overreacting. If you don't know who these guys are, you will once you play the game.

The whole idea just seems like it was conceived over tequila.
1: MK and DC have nothing in common with each other once so ever.
2: By and large, the back story of their universes are completely incompatible.
3: Anything that angers half of your fan base, if done wrongly, will kill a franchise.
4: I, a MK fan sense the MK2/3ish era, despise this idea because it just seems incompatible, cheep, a bastardization, and just plain bad.

I could see Marvel and DC crossovers, which apparently in comic books have happened at least once. That makes sense because they are both competitive comic books companies. But a crossover between MK and DC feel like someone trying to combine a donut and a piece of tree bark; then trying to pass if off as a new automobile. There is no cognitive logic at work here at all. Aside from, of course, the wad of money DC ponied up for this to the company Midway in need of a financial boost. Money is what made this happen. Not good story telling, and not support for what the fans want. That's why half the fans hate it. At least most of the half who loved the MK sense its hey day anyway.

Like I said, I would rather have had Midway at least finish the Mortal Kombat Armageddon bios. That way the fans of the series would at least have its last chapter complete before they go and flush everything down the drain. That way we could at least hold onto something as a legitimate end of the true series before it became... this...

MK:arm should have had their bios released with the game... Not half a year later. By the time most of them were released I didn't care two hoots.
