Are those Xrays actually fatalities?

In the recent "Inside the Xray" video we got to see two completely devastating Xrays. Both of these Xrays seem like they should be fatalities because of just how damaging they are. I am refering to Goro's and Ermac's. Goro completly destroys Jax's upper skull and Ermac breaks his foe's neck. I think some of these Xrays are going to be worked into fatalities. How could you come back from something like that? What do you think?
 
No they're just moves to show off the new brutality and gore that MK9 is giving, some can potentially be fatalities but i much prefer them to be x-ray moves too give out that shock factor during a match.

To be fair i think almost any move in MK can be a fatality even the smallest ones lol.
 
No offense but i think the one we saw from kitana was more devastating than ermacs. There would literally be no way they could survive with two gapping holes from the eyes all the way to the back of the head...then getting stabbed again in the back of the head. I kind of hope this is a fatality because i dont think i could take the game seriously with jax running around with no eyes and gapping holes in the back of his head. Xray fatality it would be awesome though. Goro's made me cringe...oh god that would hurt and seems more like a fatality but i think it is a better xray than kitana's
 
All the X-Ray moves are just a super move you can perform when your meter is completely filled up. The fatalities are completely different.

Agreed man, her x-ray is more brutal than her fatality and i say more her x-ray is the most brutal x-ray in the game i've seen so far! Curious to see baraka's x-ray :D

if he does that, then that could be more brutal than kitana's x-ray but i think that i would be more cool if he shoot out his two blades on the opponent chest and stomach =D
 
A lot of members seem to be overlooking the fact that not all x-rays are supposed to be equal in-terms of raw damage. Months ago, the dev. team spoke about how a characters play style, and ease of transition from a fighting scenario into the x-ray would dictate how devastating the end result would be. For example, a character like Sektor (and I think this was the dev's example in the MKast) is a ranged fighter, and as a result, his x-ray can be executed at large distances from the oppsition. Because of this ability to execute the x-ray without getting in your oppositions face, it will have reduced damage when compared to a character like Jax, who has to risk taking some hits before he can get close enough to execute his move.

For what it's worth, this might explain "varying brutality" within the Xray moves.
 
Nope. The X-Rays are special moves really that are used to turn the tables in the match....sorta.
The Fatalities are like the endings of the match where you totally PWN the enemy. Anyways, the x-rays look devastating so it could be a Fatal, but it's in game.

Yeah, because people can usually walk away after getting a spear to the chest, acid spit in their face or flash frozen.

This is a VIDEO GAME. It isn't meant to be an accurate representation of reality. Just enjoy the the X-Rays for what they are and quit overthinking them.
 
X-rays are too brutal you say. You cant continue after you've been through one. Just wait till Stryker unloads one of those glocks on you and you just shrugg them off like it was a bb gun. Dont overthink any of this or your head WILL explode.
 
I agree with looktolaluna.. don't overthink any of this because if you think about it further, even simple moves make no sense. f.e. after subzero freezes you and performs an uppercut, it should break you into pieces.. or Rain throws you a lightning bolt.. or scorpion fires you up etc etc.. don't forget, the whole game is fiction, if they were to make a reality-based fighting game, each character could only last a few kicks and punches :P
