Anyone get bored of Challenge Tower?

So last night I was playing through the challenge tower. I got to about Challenge 235 without skipping and I dont know what happened but something in me just said "**** this" and I just lost interest. I had about 90,000 koins banked so I would play through the rest of the challenges and if any of them gave me trouble I would skip them because I just didnt care anymore. I skipped about 30 challenges and I finally got to End Game, tried it once, and skipped it. Even as a Mileena Mainer I really didnt care about the flesh pits costume.. I just wanted the tower finished

Anyone else feel this way?

You skipped any part of the Challenge Tower that you found challenging and then skipped the final challenge? That seems silly. Even if you were bored of the game that night or perhaps for the entire week, you probably should have left the more challenging parts and final fight for a time when you were pumped to play MK.

I always thought that with fighters you need to embrace the process/journey rather than try to quickly get to the end, because after you reach the end and unlock all the content you're a bit short on options.

I've had MK9 since it was released and I'm still only on Challenge 50 and just reached the halfway mark in the story last night. I mean, I'm certainly no hardcore fighting fan (obviously), but even while thoroughly enjoying MK content I'm trying to make it last. If I'm bored I turn it off, rather than trying to rush through the content just for the sake of being done with it. Maybe you should try some time away from the game until you get an urge to play it again. Its only been about two and a half weeks since its release, I'm sure you would get tired of any game if you played it that much.

i enjoyed some parts of challenge tower but i wouldnt say im a fan of it, it was a grueling experience and was glad to be finished with it to be fair

yeah but I figured I would just go back and play those challenges when I felt like it. Plus I can always work backwards or do it all over again

lol I didn't know you could skip, It didn't stop me from finishing it though. It seems to me you got bored because of the overdose, you played it too much. Today we want to obtain everything and fast. Enjoy the game my friend, don't over do it.

i got bored with it.... hell i only have to beat the ladder with four more characters to have all the endings.... dlc better come quick or psn better come back or im gonna lose interest.

I got bored of it almost immediately, it's not as fun as I thought it was going to be. I'm around 250 I think. I'm forcing myself to play through it for achievements.

I think the biggest problem for me that after challenge 200 the challenges became VERY Repetative. I mean it was like a Test Your Might and Test your Sight every 20 challenges or so but after 200 it was like

Test Your Might
Tilt The World
1 on 2 match
Test Your Sight
Tilt The World
1 on 4 fight
Test Your Might
Use all your specials
Tilt The World
Test Your Luck

it just seemed like I was doing the same 5 challenges over and over and over again where as the first 200 seemed unique

I agree with natedoggcata, the challenges got repetitive and some were just so over the top it wasn't entertaining.

I know one of the ones I am stuck on is you are cyber sub zero and you have to hit Sektor in the head like 30 times. by the 10th hit I just get bored and then he combos and kills me. I attempt it like 3 times and then I am done with it. I don't even care. I don't play cyber sub zero, I don't even like the concept of the mission.

Or fighting 3 Shao Kahns as Stryker. I don't like Stryker, I RARELY play stryker, why would I want to fight 3 Shao Kahns as him?

I did beat the 300th mission, but that was mostly due to I was allowed to pick the character, if I was forced a character I wouldn't bother. I think that is what made me skip a LOT of them. lack of interest in the match AND the character I am playing. I'd rather pick who I would play. Mainly because if I like 1 character most, it allows me more ways to train with that character. I don't want to bother missions with characters I don't even like.

i skipped pretty much all of them... only played about 20 because i immediately didnt like it

Unlike what seems like most people on this forum, I have trouble with at least one challenge every ten or so. I'm around 160-ish and I have been skipping ones that I try and try and am still frustrated on.

I simply am not any good with certain characters, and being pitted against some pretty tough odds is bad enough.

I HATED the one where you had to fight sindel as sub zero and do his specials. I'm actually semi-accustomed to using him.

The Ice Clone and ground freeze was an absolute pain to get her to fall into. Especially since she is so fast and likes to use alot of ranged attacks. I finally did it but man, was that frustrating.

I'm not bored with it, but I do get tired of failing the same challenge over and over. So I like the idea of skipping, though I do plan on going back and finishing the ones I missed. Mostly I just take a break and play a ladder, or a different game even, and come back to the Challenge tower and I can usually beat what I could not before.

I also like skipping around and doing different missions, doing the same one over and over and over and over and over just gets draining.

Only after I beat all 300 challenges.

I'm upset it's a Mileena costume as the prize when over 85% of people don't even use her.

Pretty boring for the NRS team to hype it up as they did!

I did most of the challenges, got up to the 240's or so then skipped so I can try Endgame since I had the money. I don't think I'll be completing that in a while, but I'm starting to get some serious burnout from the tower and the game in general. Mostly because PSN is down, but I feel like it's such a grind and instead of having fun, it feels like a chore. Great game, just very tedious.

exactly what i did/thought :)

I actually enjoyed the Challenge Tower for the most part. I'm on the challenge where you have to bear Baraka, Sindel, and Shao Kahn while playing as Shang Tsung. The only challenges I've disliked were the ones I had to play as Baraka (I hate playing as him). I liked the quirkiness it offers and it introduced me to a number of characters by throwing me headfirst into the s--t. It was a nice change of pace for me. Some days I'd play through a handful then head back to Arcade Ladders and/or playing with roommates and friends and other days I'd really be feeling it and I'd plow through like thirty. I really enjoyed what they did with the Challenge Tower, all-in-all, and would probably pick up DLC challenges if they were offered at a good price.

I know what the end prize is. I know I won't use it. I know most of my friends who play with me will never use it. I think it's a weak as hell prize. All that and I still keep playing the challenges, all for the fun of it. I'd say that pretty well sums up my feelings on the matter lol.

I'm at about 285, I've only skipped two and they were ones that included taking on 3 bosses. I just simply cannot stand the boss battles now given the invulnerability crap, you can't have inconsistencies like that in a fighting game, its the cheapest possible way to add difficulty. Other than that I haven't minded the challenge tower even though I over do it sometimes, the most I've done is 95 challenges in one sitting.
