Anyone do combos???????

Seriously this is outta hand its like noone knows combos online..its special after special...exray after xray. like what are u winning its not even ranked match. u win 1 game then ill decline and end up blocking u. its BORRRRRRRRING. just had to rant sorry

Personally, when I play online I will try to connect combos but the delay causes an immense amount of difficulty. I end up looking ridiculous, accidentally starting up a combo over and over again with no result.
I do understand what you're talking about though…

Pretty much this.



I've dropped some of the more complicated combos I've come up with because of the button delay.
I CAN'T STAND missing Sektor's b2 1 after any pop up.

I still use them offline though :)
 
The one match I've played online had no delay and I was able to land a few combos. I lost... Barely... But that was from inexperience and not lag.

at least u try most people just spam away i barely see a combo longer than 4 hits OHHHHHH i forgot about the throwing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Losing_My_Mind_Wallpaper_bhpki.jpg
 
I use short, Effective combos.
Its not about massive 10 hitters when you have mad delay and lag.
3 to 4 button inputs punish if you know what your doing...
 
I use combos with all my characters. I can consistently land 30% damage online (mind you I tend to find more stable connections for some odd reason) with all of the characters I use with any frequency. Sub-Zero, Ermac, Kano, Smoke, and now Kenshi. I use my specials whenever they're needed, but to do so exclusively cuts out a lot of the tools a character has. Combos deal damage in big chunks, normals can act as anti-air, mix-ups, or pressure. Specials are wonderful in this game, but there's so much more to it than that.
 
Yeah! All the time actually. Without kombos I would lose. I always do the Dial-A-Kombos and I always bait for my 10 hit kombos. I kinda hate it when the people I fight online only jump kick, uppercut, grapple and special moves. I mean, kombos are there for a reason ya' know.
 
dude, i agree 100%. some noob will just learn three special moves and just repeat them over and over again. i'll be juggling combos and some guy will beat me with two moves, I notice that alot of these type of people love playing as smoke and scorpion. tonight i was playing someone just like this and i beat them 3 times in a row, but on the 4th fight he chose sheeva and just spammed her teleport ground slam jump,lol. sometimes i wonder how many people have good online scores because their spammers.
 
i do combos. but its usually the same BnB punish every time because it does the most damage. this seems to upset people who spam unsafe moves. "learn more combos (insert explicit)" or they call me combo spammer. i just don't get it.

i do combos, tho with some degree of difficulty online :(
but i love them, wouldnt live without them.

so yeah, hit me up if you want to play, i also play tag with my kids, they are decent players so it would be cool.
so yeah, i hang out at the gamefaqs room on psn tho, they have probably the most talented bunch of cool cats, everybody is nice, and will even help you if you need some guidance ;)

Yes. This.
Even with a great connection and no lag, combos seem much harder to do online.
It's either because the other player is destroying me, and I can't catch my breath, or the slight lag causes too much problems.

So, aim for 10-18% combos and you should have more fun.... Now we just need to tell all the noobs this info, so they stop spamming projectiles for 90 seconds.

yeah thats what i mostly do, i mean i can do higher combos, but like you said, online for me personally, it gets hard.

do i enjoy that really easy to do kenshi combo with xray for 48% :D
 
My whole strategy is getting in that envelope, starting the characters generic button link, and see if I can get a few extra hits via juggle.
It's effectiveness varies lol my defense is crap.
 
before i was dealing more with 21-25% combos...but lately i have changed little bit my style.
I try to do every round one 43-47% combo.
