anyone disappointed by Mk? not as hardcore as i hoped, pretty spammy

Think Nick covered pretty much everything, most of the OP's points equate to "It's not Mortal Kombat 2"

I'm also amazed that people are STILL complaining about spammed specials or X-rays power. Block, you idiots.

Only thing I might agree with is the character specific normals, it'd be a good way of diversifying characters further, if some can have dive kicks, why can't they all just have different hitboxes, startups and damage values?

... Uh... wut?

Have you even played Marvel vs Capcom 3? No Story, Character Endings are lackluster & awful, Mission Mode is meh, No Spectator Mode, Netcode is bad, Shadow Mode is awful & a rip off, Event Mode is generic, you had to pay for characters that were already on disk, X-Factor is broken, there isn't any features in this game other than Arcade, Vs, Mission Mode, Ranked, Player, Endless Battle. The only good thing about Marvel vs Capcom 3 is that the gameplay is pretty good, graphics are great, & the roster is diverse.

Mortal Kombat is far from dissapointing, especially if you just came from playing MvC3.

I don't know what the original post is talking about. MK9 is THE most balanced, skillful, and hardcore of any MK game. It has a lot of depth, and combos definitely need exact timings which are different for each one. Especially with patches that can be added on, it will only get more balanced.

To compare with, the 2nd most competitive MK game, UMK3, was good a long time ago, but since the glitch jabs were discovered, it is kind of broken, and will never be fixed or 'patched'. So no other MK games are comparable, maybe MK2, but it's not too deep.
