Am I the only one who enjoys the boss fights?

The two-on-one fights are challenging, but Shao Kahn ruined the game for me. There's nothing fun about it, whatsoever. If you can't cheese him down then you get killed in all of two seconds. It's an awful boss-fight and really should be rectified. I was having a lot of fun with the game until I had to polay him in story mode, and all the fun evaporated instantly.

Then I played Arcade and it was just as bad.

3 days and I returned the game :-/

Everything else was fantastic. I would have given the game a 9-9.5 out of 10 ... but with Shao Kahn it drops to an 8 at best. The entire game should not come to a screeching halt because of one cheap, poorly designed boss.

Play on beginner it'll help.

Besides that I really hate Shao Kahn, I'm too afraid to play arcade on any other difficulty just to get to him and have a headache lmao I play on beginner because I'm a noob and want endings. Also Goro is a amazing boss as one combo can beat him and he will only retaliate with 3 different attacks.

Shang Tsung is really hard to beat, I can't imagine even fighting jade if I have to pull 2 flawlesses on him let alone everyone else to get there.

I kinda disagree with you (1st post) ... Didn't bother reading the other posts, but someone else probably agrees with me ... The bosses are supposed to be harder than the other characters, but even on expert, their easy as Hell ... Especially Kintaro ... Using weak combos with any character, I can beat him with ease, most of the time with me receiving no more than 10% damage ... Shao Khan is easy too (flawless multiple times on expert), and beat him in story mode (2nd time) on the 1st match ... Goro on the other hand was more annoying than hard ... He seems to have a worm up his you-know-what that makes him jump around like crazy ... But even that became easy after a while ... All in all, I think bosses should be much much harder ... Hell, MK2 took forever to finish on normal (hate Kitana in that game :p)

Oh really? And what makes you the arbiter what someone has a "right" to say? My sincere apologies, Mr. President, I didn't realize I was breaking the law by having an opinion.

Shao Kahn utterly breaks the game, beginning to end. The entire story mode stops dead in its tracks when you have to face him as Liu Kang. In Arcade it's just as awful but at least you can play as a character like Scorpion who can just constantly teleport to avoid his cheap BS.

There is nothing "fun" about the Shao Kahn fights, and there's no reason to keep playing the game if it's literally impossible to advance.

Well I am at the

Spoiler:
Liukang vs Shaokahn

fight right now, and it's just about impossible. I'm getting about 1 hit in before I die.

If anyone has any tips I would love to hear them.

It's not fun but it's not impossible either. You just have to be as cheap as Shao Kahn is, basically. Get some distance and shoot projectiles at him. Other option is to constantly jump over him and do a combo asap, rinse and repeat. The AI isn't able to handle that stuff.

Okay ignore that, I decided to stand as far as way as possible throwing fireball after fireball, using x-ray whenever I got it. Wasn't fun but it worked.

I'm sorry that your the kind of person who comes up to a challenge and doesn't get determined to beat it but gives up and misses out. I'd like to see you play challenge tower and go through the 200+ challenges.

Why would I waste my time with a game that isn't fun?

There is no "challenge" to Shao Kahn. It's cheap spam vs. cheap spam. There's no fun, there's no challenge, there's no intelligent AI. It's just a waste of time.

EDIT: And why are you "sorry"? WHy did you begin your post with "sorry"? Are you terrified of offending me if you have a contrary opinion?

so im guessing you didnt even finish the story mode then...if you had a hard time killing him with liu kang guess it would be kind of impossible with the final battle with raiden then. took me probably a good 10 mins to find a way to kill him and end story mode

well if you have friends play them in versus. there are other fun stuff besides story and the arcade ladder. shao kahn isn't the only thing the game has to offer.

Not at all.. having to out cheese the computer isn't fun and it just makes it seem like, 'Why is this even here?'

SNK Boss Syndrome... even in 2011

i dont like how during half of the moves they get that yellow shield and they dont acknowledge being hit, but i guess the free hits from random boasting make up for it. when shao kahn told me i suck i lol'd hard though.
