To be honest, I don't feel too good about this... but... I am also being stopped from playing with/as my precious Tanya or Sareena.

On a lighter note, I am really not very good online (I try to get good with Mileena, though) so people not able to play against me is not really a great loss for them -- if a loss at all.

I certianly hope not as it seems only a few users here downright HATE Freddy. I personally like him, but would rather have Jason anyday.

Look, everyone already said a ton of ******** here. People complained about Freddy, and people complained about other not getting the Comp. Pack and insulted those guys! But then, they started to say stuff like "I don't want to play with you anyway", so please, people, please THINK a little:

If you say you don't want to play with people that don't want to get the Comp. Pack, then why are you still insulting them? What difference does it make what someone gets or not, if you don't want to fight them for whatever reason?

For the past 10 ranked matches I have, 7 or 8 opponentes didn't have the Comp. Pack for any DLC character. I wanted to play with Rain, but I couldn't, but it didn't RUIN my game, neither you see me complaining about it!

So please, PLEASE, just stop picking on other for whatever reason! Play Freddy with whom you can or don't if you don't want to.

Show some maturity and stop insulting each other for nothing!
 
I know this is off topic, but who else here thinks the Announcer saying FREDDY KRUGER or JASON VOORHEES would be funny as hell? For some reason, it makes me chuckle by thinking that somebody can really say Freddy Kruger wins..fatatily and make it sound scary or threating.

This guy is right. Can we please stop the arugments? Although my past posts might make this sound less, than true, I promise that I wll no longer respond to P53's comments about Freddy. But I must add one thing, if a charecther hasn't even be announced for DLC please don't bash them. Who knows, you might end up liking them!

Saying you are being stopped from playing Sareena and Tanya in a game where THEY AREN'T PLAYABLE is like *****ing about not being able to play Blaze in MK2. A game where he hasn't entered the canon yet and thus is irrelevant.

Your bland ninja women will be in the next game I'm sure.

It's a bonus extra thing. Jesus. I was saying that your argument is irrelevant. I suppose you'd rather just throw all of the future MK players into this game so that the next game is nothing new and sucks? God forbid we save characters for when they come into play rather than frontloading them into THE FIRST GAME.

My thinking is that the best chance to get Tanya and/or Sareena would have been as DLC in MK9 -- because, especially Sareena, they are neither the most beloved (due to being of the "wrong" gender) nor the most central characters. For other characters, such a Shinnok, this line of thinking does not apply, they are pretty much guaranteed to be included in MK10 and play a central role in the story. So, supporters of Shinnok would not need to be upset about the waste of one spot with a worthless guest characters. But I think for poor Sareena, DLC in MK9 would have been the best, and probably only, chance to be playable once more. Maybe you can understand my frustration and anger now.

I thought I heard a rumor of Tanya and Rain being sub bosses or at least central to the story in MK10.

I was kind of disappointed that it wasn't Fujin or Cyber Smoke, but I am open minded. I think he looks fun. I mean, can we not just let it go? Dislike him? Fine, don't download him. Jeez folks, it's that simple.

Kratos at least is banned from tournaments. But Freddy could end up taking EVO next year (if MK9 still has a spot at the next EVO of course). Which means every serious competitive player on the planet NEEDS to learn the Freddy and Bugs Bunny matchup whether they like it or not. Which is ridiculous to me.
 
A Nightmare On Elm Street is my favorite horror film, the original; I saw it when I was five years old and it introduced me to horror films. Freddy Kruger scared the hell out of me when I was a child but I love watching the films 1,2 and 3 and other horror films. Because of my love of horror films and A Nightmare On Elm Street Series I have to by this DLC Character, yes he really doesn't belong in a Mortal Kombat game but but nether does Krato's and sooner or later XBox360 is going to get an exclusive character and it's going to be the same thing.

I'm not to sure about Freddy's look though, I love the Freddy Kruger from the original 1984 A Nightmare On Elm Street; not the remake. And is it going to be Jackie Earle Haley's voice.

And the big question is in the new batch of DLC character's, if there is any; will there be Jason? so that there will be Freddy VS Jason matches.
 
Freddy in MK9 is pissing me off, but the fact that he is in tournaments is ridiculous, you want to play Freddy in your house, fine but the tournaments are a serious thing in the videogames world, and they cant put him on it, tourney players go to play Mortal Kombat, and Freddy Krueger is a guest, and this stupid move allowing him to be in tournaments can put in risk MK's tournament recognition and importance, even more if they keep popping up not MK characters.

I'm a huge horror buff, and am liking Freddy in this game. All in good fun. It took me a bit to grasp it, but I'm digging it now. I saw some footage and his movelist is nasty. I'm an old school horror guy so Englund is my man, but whatever.

I'm all for Freddy. I do still feel bad for the whiners who don't want him in this game and paid for the season pass hahahaa
