2 new Castlevania games

Read that review, it's more like a whiny rant than a review really, best to ignore.

Better news

Toy Maker boss fight

Spoiler:

Can't wait for the 25th!

A gist of that review:

•Claims nearly every attempt this game makes to "stray from its fundamental kill room formula ends in failure".
•Reviewer loved the first game, said "Unfortunately this sequel is as fresh as a whiff of garlic breath".
•Good new combat mechanics but enemies stun locking you out of combos from across the map while you fight with the camera.
•Reviewer hates the modern setting, its filled with generic alley ways, factory levels.
•Says there was one stealth segment that was the worst of its class. The more traditional Castlevania settings are better.
•Says there is one great level with the toy maker, outside of that most of the game is just ground previously covered in the first game.
•"This shambling monstrosity is composed of chunks from other, better games"

Really not sure what he was expecting, if I remember right I recall reading something along the lines of the game being too hard as well for his dislike.

I wouldn't trust anything GI has to say anyway. I do however love it when a reviewer bashes it for trying something new and keeping while building on what made the first one good in the same review. Not everything can reinvent itself every year like the glorious Cod does.

Has anybody played it yet?
I'm seeing it on PSN right now and am thinking about buying it.

I kind of want to wait to see what you guys think of it, but I also want to play it quick before the spoilers get out.

It comes out only on the 25th I think, but I have played the demo and it is absolutely awesome! They have addressed almost all the flaws LoS had, including the option to turn of QTEs. The combat is very fluid and responsive. I got to see a little more of the playthrough on Youtube and the story is meshing out very well from the start.

Great news!

Anybody that says: Castlevania SOTN isn't the best game in the series should be shot onsite.

Pre Order incentives suck dick.
I want both of the Dracula costumes, but instead I pre ordered off of PSN and got Mirrors of Fate HD.
Nobody wants to play that shit

I still wanna know what the hell those relics are.

Probably just early access to stat boosters that you can normally find hidden.

Ever play Dante's Inferno? Like that game's relics.

Never played Dante's Inferno but your probably right. I just hope there are more costumes than the two preorder ones. Give me a reason to play it on the hardest difficulty so I can cry myself to sleep for a few weeks.

Off topic, but you should try it out. It has some of the most twisted enemy design I've ever seen in a game

I actually did want to get it around the time it came out but I never got around to it. It's probably pretty cheap now so maybe I'll pick it up next time I have some spending money.

Had got the game early and after 20 + hours (ensuring I leveled up Gabriel well and checking out most of the secret areas), I finally finished it and I got to say the game definitely delivers in all respects, especially gameplay and story. Man, the people at Mercurysteam really knows how to craft an emotional game that hits you deep in. I would go on to say this would so far be the best action/adventure/hack'n'slash whatever I have played, although it has its flaws, they are passable given all the positives it has. Sad this saga has come to an end, hope to discuss it with you all once you get to play too.

Ah nice, good to hear I can't wait to play it. Just one question are there any unlockable outfits/other little bonuses to unlock? A yes or no will suffice. I'm gonna be getting the game either way I just want to know for a replay value kinda thing.
