Pop-shotting can be tricky and it still limits movement. You always have to make sure you don't shoot before the shotgun actually aims, so in an intense moment it can be a bit hard to pull off.
Yeah the combat is satisfyingly brutal, especially when you unlock more skills and moves for Max. My only issue is that when you fully-upgrade Max's damage, defense, jacket armor and such then melee combat becomes a breeze. Although unlike Shadow of Mordor that also got too easy when you fully-leveled up, you can unequip all the upgrades you give Max which is awesome.
It's pretty much picking your poison. Hipfire has horrible accuracy but lets you keep moving while ADS's is more accurate, but may not inflict enough damage and restricts your movement. Also Mad Max is awesome so far, the hand-to-hand combat is way better than the Batman series and Shadow of Mordor. Since it's slower-paced and more realistic the timing is more strict, so getting your ass whooped is common. You can't just mash X like in the other games.
Headshots from a distance and 1-shot downs are extremely common in this game, lol it's why people say the gnasher is very inconsistent since the damage on it always seems to be incredibly weak or incredibly strong. It's pretty much why I two-piece people so much because I'd rather be cheap than have to deal with the shotgun possibly not working properly
I'm not really a fan of center-screen aiming, I prefer barrel shooting as the gnasher seems to be more consistent that way. This one seems very pin-point so you really need to make sure all bullets hit or else you can hit the guy 3 times with it before he lands that one good shot and downs you in one go :|
It's about the size of a typical Hotwheels car, maybe a bit bigger. I'm not sure if I want to take it out of the box or not. I still haven't taken my Boba Fett/IG-88 figure set that comes with an exclusive comic out of the box yet cause since they're small figures they wouldn't display well next to my collection of large ones.
Gears Ultimate Edition has been quite the ride so far now that you bring that up. I post on the forum and the shotgun in the game is so inconsistent and wonky threads are constantly made about it. In this one thread I posted proof via gifs of me shooting people point-blank and them eating the bullets. This dude named reapergamepr0 insulting me saying I sucked at the game and just missed, and that I should just get better and stop "complaining." Dude was a complete ingrate...
Well...guess who I encountered last night when I was playing... :D
I have to pre-order it regardless for the collectible car, really don't want to miss out on it. Even if Mad Max disappoints (even though I doubt it will), MGSV is always the next best thing since I'm getting it as well.
Not all legendary dwellers come with weapons unfortunately. I actually went to Gamestop and pre-ordered Mad Max but I forgot to check out the 360 section to see if they had NV :|
