I am a pretty good MKX online player and the main thing there are the long combos. So will MK11 be more about mix-ups that allow to start a new combo right after the last ends? This is somehow more difficult for me to find out rather than combining attacks.
As I haven't played it I can't give a definitive answer, but based on footage and dev statements it seems that in place of long combos, there will be a heavy emphasis of short combos that can be further pressured through good spacing, mix ups, and footsie game. There are really trying to cut down on the 50/50 emphasis that X had. Trap and set up characters seemed to be doing good in this environment as well.
