It's not a big deal but I think it sort of hurts the believability of the dialogue.

Heh, maybe he said his name so the audience would remember who Shinnok is.
 
Mentioning the echo, I loved his voice in the prologue. I thought the "Be silent Shinnok!" line was so menacing. Like Dark Raiden is definitely the most interesting this character has been in a while.

Also speaking of names, I love how the characters mention each other by name in their intros. It's a small, weird detail, but it's just so cool hearing Scorpion say "Baraka" when he would otherwise never even speak to him canon wise.

I love him when he sounds like a condescending asshole -- e.g. "you befoul these hallowed grounds, begone!" and "and what do you offer? the same as you did millennia ago. We banished you to the Netherrealm once, we shall do so again," and "There are fates worse than death."

The problem is the rest of his performance really brings it down. The two most important traits for any Raiden performance to capture are wisdom and compassion. And Epcar's performance is too wooden to be either of those, IMO.

I think Steve Blum would do a fine job if Sub-Zero had any depth, but he's just a boy scout right now. Hopefully MK11 gives him some depth.

Ronda Rousey seems surprisingly decent at first glance (though I'm sad to lose Tricia).

The new Scorp seems much better than the old Scorp.

Geras's voice is pretty weird, gonna take some getting used to. I love his delivery of "Come thunder, come lightning!" though.
 
I have a feeling if no one had said Sonya's new voice actor was Ronda Rousey, no one would have cared about her voice. She doesn't sound any better or worse than any of the other actors in my opinion, and personally I think she's done a good job. Also, people saying she's not an actor, she works in WWE, what is that if not acting?
 
Bullshit. Sonya's MK9 voice was great, it was good in MKX too. Here she just mumbles without proper intonation. "How do I earn your respect." Response should be "Take an acting class."
 
I love Raiden's voice - I think he looks and sounds badass in both MKX and what we've seen of MK11 so far. I like that they've made him taller this time around. I think he's going to be epic in story mode.

re Geras - the one thing that worries me about some of his abilities is that it makes me think he's in part inspired by Havik, and so are we now (even) less likely to see him on the roster?
 
The voices of MK11 are "meh" so far. Kronika's voice is the best so far (though I was hoping for someone like Lani Minella to play as her instead). Lani Minella is the woman who voiced Sindel in MK9. Or the voice of Christie from Dead or Alive 5 should voice Kronika and/or Jade!
 
Hopefully they'll bring back Jade's MK9 VA when she gets revealed. She was so fcking good.

Not sure why people like previous Scorpion's VA. Dude sounded like a biker, a WWE character. Also like how Scorpion seems more noble now, while Sub-zero sounds more pissed off.

I think we've already established you're very strongly opinionated ;) hence I said in my opinion.
 
I'm not big on Skarlets actual voice. But I do love the little..... effect she has that makes her sound like she's gargling or whatever. That accent though is not it though.
 
I always like Richard Epcar's Raiden's voice. The old voices of Raiden always sound too cheesy in my opinion, but I feel like his voice fits well with his design and personality. I'm also a big Lupin III fan, so hearing the guy who voice Jigen doing the voice of Raiden is so cool.

Facts, MK9/X Quan Chi or MK4 Quan Chi?

Both voices matched the roles they played in each iteration imo, but I kinda liked his Overlord Voice in MK4 a lot more cause it made him seem more powerful and evil than Shinnok himself. I was hoping they'd incorporate parts of that voice overlapping with the normal voice in MKX but it is what it is.

I'm wondering if this is only in some cinematic story stuff or also includes fighting him in story mode.
If there are matches against him in story mode, then Shaun essentially admitted to selling on-disc DLC with him being a "bonus."
 
My guess is that he's part of the 25, if MKX is anything to go by (24 + Goro).
Currently, 13 of the 25 are confirmed / teased.
