What character surprised/disappointed you?

Good discussion, dude. But I'd laugh if Leatherface is one of Kotal's goons.

..Actually, that's doesn't seem that bad of an idea. He's got an earthrealm Cowboy. Maybe NRS can work their magic in to how that would happen, if it does happen.

To be fair, that cowboy doesn't really age or has an extended lifespan or some sh**. So I can see Kotal taking advantage of that fact.

Predator is not famous for it's "horror elements". But again, that doesn't mean it isn't part of the horror genre or that it didn't manage to scare anyone. The creature is still a horror movie monster. *shrug*

Predator is a movie monster, but not really a horror movie monster.
He falls along the lines of the T-100, Harry Potter monsters, Godzilla, Swamp Thing, the dinosaurs from Jurassic Park, and King Kong.
All not horror.

As for Alien, didn't seem like horror, especially when compared to the horror films that came out shortly after it like Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday The 13th.
I'll agree to disagree on those 2.

True. I even considered that fact, but still the best way of fitting him in that I can predict right now. They could add anything to make it work. This is just my example: Kotal returns to Earth in the 70's and recruits Leatherface and grants him some abilities with his magic.

Honestly, I really like this idea. Not saying this is what they'll do but I hope they do because it makes the best since so far.

Because Alien isn't a slasher movie, doesn't make it not a horror film. You're denying the truth, brother.
The original Godzilla was featured in the first issue of Fangoria.. a horror magazine.
Predator has a well deserved place among horror movie characters.

You mean T-800 or the T-1000 or the TX or the T-3000

The Alien franchise isn't horror?

You can't agree to disagree on that because that's simply not true. The Alien franchise IS apart of the horror genre. Just because it doesn't look like a horror movie to you doesn't mean it isn't. That's just... silly.

Is that supposed to be dissing Scooby Doo?

Could be, but more than likely it's just him acting like a dick to me, as usual.
It's the same tired Internet "I don't have anything else to debate, so let me resort to insults and personal attacks" debate tactic.

Surprised by Jacqui. She turned out to be a lot of fun playing as. Hitting her special moves alone feels nice.

Disappointed by D'Vorah. She's not a very creative character to begin with so needed to compensate with solid gameplay. Sadly, she fails miserably in this area also. Strange considering she's built up as the next big thing in story mode.

D'Vorah is really good tho, what's wrong with her gameplay?

Personally, I love how she looks and her character in Story Mode, but her gameplay is rather lacking. She has a few cool normals and strings, like the one where she lifts herself ofround with her pincers, but that her 3 special moves are, well, just those three, and that they just change properties for each Variation... it's boring, imo. I don't like playing as her. And that disappointed me, because on paper she's so cool.

Speaking of story, D'Vorah easily disappointed me the most out of anybody. The rarest thing to see in Outworld is loyalty. And it truly looked like D'Vorah was going to be a great supporting character for Kotal Kahn. But instead she's just another lackey of Shinnok (for no explained reason whatsoever, it actually completely contradicts her origin story in the comic). And in turn, she makes Kotal Kahn a weaker character because of it. She was the strongest part of his posse, personality wise, and now she's gone. More cliche backstabbing to keep the MK storylines predictable.

Well said. I'd like to get an explanation as to why she was with Shinnok. Was she actually Brotherhood of Shadow? Weird how they left that out. Maybe MK11 will clearify that.

I've been playing a lot of Erron Black lately. Marksmen is great if you want to win with a minimal amount of effort, which makes me want to fall asleep. I really don't know how Gunslinger is meant to be used so I stick with Outlaw. It seems like his best variation. I love the tarkatan sword too. Anyone good with Black? I'm curious of how others use him.
