Hmm don't wanna be joy killer, but somehow trailer was pretty... anticlimactic. Dunno why. Maybe just me. But somehow footage didn't add up with music. And that F.A.N.G... anything, but "villain" :D
 
So from what i understand the beta (blazblue) style story mode is going to take place after sf3 and the update in june will take place between sf4 and 3. Is that right??? i kinda got confused. either way I do hope the update is going to be badass. ive always wanted Street fighter to have story elements in their games now all we need now is to find out who won the damn 2nd world warrior tournament lol

No, the story mode we will have at launch (the one with the artwork by Bengus) are the characters stories leading up to SFV. They will tell some parts of the SF Alpha, II and IV story I guess, along with stuff that happened between those games and after SFIV, depending on the characters.
The cinematic story mode will take place before SFIII.
No part of the SFV story will take place after SFIII as far as we know. There could always be a second story mode DLC that overlaps with or goes beyond SFIII story down the road, but that's just speculation and nobody at Capcom has hinted at something like that as far as I know.
 
SFV Beta is up.

Was nice surprise today. Finally got to try the game myself. This. THIS is the performance I was looking for. 60fps super smooth gameplay and lagless online. LAGLESS. I almost shed a tear, but stopped myself. Need to see full release. But so far it is godlike experience.
Maybe, because I compare it with MKX or just because it is BETTER experience. Either way. It is awesome. While I keep getting crashes to desktop every 15-20 minutes, I still get to enjoy game a lot. It's awesome.
 
Two Questions:
-Is the beta available to all PS4 Owners or people who signed up for it?
-Can you play the Beta Offline against an AI?

Preorder the game and you're guaranteed Beta access

Online only. You play in training mode while the game looks for an opponent
 
I was hesitant about pre-ordering, so I missed every other beta session. I'm glad I didn't have to get PS+ for playing the beta, and hope it stays that way with the final version. I don't have the ideal setup for online play, but its playable as long as its within the US.

Although I wanted Karin back for the longest time, I'm learning towards Birdie now as character of choice. I didn't care for him during his Alpha days, but I like the way he was retooled in SFV.

This is the last beta and it will end on Jan 31. I pre-ordered from Best Buy and it took a couple of days before I got my code. I'm not sure how quick other retailers are about giving away beta codes, but you better act fast.

Yes that was the point. I mean you unlock it in store and still need to pay with Fight Money. But pretty much I understood that even new characters will be available for Fight money. If let's say Juri character will cost 10000 fight money... and you get 50 per every victory. Oh boy. Boys did the math.

CAPCOM is literally shitting on MKX.
