MKX was going to die regardless. With Street Fighter V coming out, the Evo lineup is all filled up. There's no way they're taking SFIV off of Sunday just yet and both Smash games will probably get better numbers than MK. Throw in Tekken 7 & possibly Pokken, and even 2017's Evo lineup is filled.

Actually, I hope it does come out in March, so we can maximize the chances of commercial failure. We'll be playing as Cammy, Ken, Ryu, Mike Bison, Ibuki, Charlie Nash, and Chun-li at that point anyway.

Sadly, though, NRS seems fine with being #2 to SF.
MK9, Injustice, MKX.
None of them seem to go past the 2-year mark with that latest title fizzling out, then they're on to the next project.

Why would you wish commercial failure on an game IP that you supposedly like?
What, just because you dislike the guests?
Then don't buy the guests and vote with your wallet.
Simple as that.

I want the KP to flunk because they ignored the wishes of fans. If anything, KP2 only got me more hyped for SF5. Have you seen that game's DLC? They're giving us 6 characters, ALL of them from SF. Mike Bison, Guile, Urien, Alex, Ibuki, and Juri. And the great thing is, you can still obtain them the old-fashioned way; unlocking them through gameplay for free.

If the people who don't want guests characters vote with their wallets, then the guests will sell less, but I don't wish failure on the KP2.
On the contrary, more people buying Tri-Borg and Bo Rai Cho and less of Alien and Leatherface will send a message that they prefer MK characters.
The fans have only themselves to blame for buying guests, so NRS keeps putting them in.
Unfortunately, if NRS sees that Freddy, Jason, and Predator outsell MK characters, then they'll just keep adding them.
Don't want guests, then vote with your wallet.
If as many people voted with their wallets for DLC as they do on election day, then NRS / WB wouldn't put guests in.
Blame the fans who buy it, not NRS.

The fans aren’t a hive mind who like and hate the same things. There are fans who are happy that they can play as Alien, Bo' Rai Cho, a Cyborg with Cyrax, Sektor and Smoke Variations or Leatherface. But I guess these people aren’t “real” fans. :wink:

People who want to poison MK with guest characters are not real fans because they ruin MK for the people who ARE real fans.

So (to play devil's advocate here), if a person has played and collected every single MK game for the past 23 years, said person would not be considered a real fan if they want Alien, Predator, or any other guest in?

I'll agree that I don't care for MK being turned into Terrordome, but I'm voting with my wallet.
As much as I don't care for Alien or Leatherface being in, I'm simply just not buying them.
I'll buy Bo Rai Cho and maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe Tri-Borg, but I choose to send a message to NRS that I don't further support guests by not getting them.
Even if it means that my wallet vote it just a drop of water in an ocean of fans, it's more productive than throwing a hissy fit.
