I don't expect a fighting game to deeply delve in relationships.

It's rare to see gay/lesbian character in video games in general since most devs are afraid of getting unwanted criticism.

I'm gay, but the general idea of couples (gay or str8) in MK Universe is something that they have to be very careful when they create a releationship in this game... although Jhonny and Sonya works well.

Sonya and Johnny were really well done as a couple, so I'd be OK with more relationships being explored in MK (including LGBT relationships if it makes sense for the story). However, it took them 20+ years to get one relationship right, so yeah...

I would rather than get their shit together with consistency, lore, development (specifically the villains), etc. first. The storyline is improving at a molasses speed.

A character can be gay without being in a relationship though. However, I personally don't find any character's sexuality relevant to be mentioned, as it serves no purpose. It's just another character trait, like blood type or origin.

Actually Les characters are rather common (Juri, Morrigan are the two that come to mind quickly), but there have only ever been two gay dudes; one of the characters in SF (I forget), and someone whose so offensive I'm not going to call out his name/game.





Meh, I wouldn't mind a openly gay couple, though I would think it was oddly PC for a game like MK.

I personally have more important things to do than worry about who puts what where (Unless it's a nuke. Don't misplace nukes....)

As for gay relationships in MK, I'm not phased. Then again I'm not really interested in any form of relationship in MK because it's never really been an issue. I know there have been people wanting Liu and Kitana to happen, but i'm pretty 'meh' to the whole thing

Of course they can, but a gay person, in reality, looks and sounds like just another person. Unless they included it in the bio, or made the character a stereotype (and potentially offensive) the easiest way to do it is to involve relationships (because MK doesn't do sex, yet).

Exactly why I think it is irrelevant. From all we know, some of the already established MK characters could be gay, but because it hasn't been relevant to the story or to the character, it hasn't been brought up.
