People's extreme love and passion towards characters

I don't like that mindset, that MK1-2 characters have to be in the game and everyone else are replacable. I find some MK1-2 characters to be replacable as well.

Agreed 900%

You can really go around mixing up the cast by taking a few characters from differing eras. The cast would feel so different but so familiar at the same time. We just need the Nostalgia Armour of MK1-2 to calm down a bit.

I'm new but if I could, I'd thank you, commander and the rest who want to mix it up. I may come off as someone who doesn't care for the 3D Roster but really I have no qualms about the fighters just that era of the game. I agree that you should mix up the Kast to keep the game fresh so have both, old and new. That "Will!", keep hardcore fans interested and also bring new fans in. I don't want this game to turn into SF where you have 40+ fighters to choose from and no background story then it just turns into a fighting game and nothing more. Boon and NRS are about story first kharacter last it seems and I think that if the kharacter is in the story line and they kontribute then they do have value in this game. DLCs like Jason and Predator are great for entertainment and add options for online game play. Tanya and Tremor give us that option and the possibility to be included in story in the next game.

I honestly feel that the constant returnees should sit out a game or two. You're hearing this from a major die hard fan of Sub-Zero's literally saying "I don't have a problem with Sub-Zero sitting out."

Would I be bummed? A little, yeah, but I really wouldn't be bothered that much because there's a dozen more characters in the game I could choose from to play as. So if someone who's a die hard fan of a returning character literally says that they really wouldn't have a problem with that character sitting out, others should feel inclined to do the same.

It makes me so happy to see this sentiment growing within the fanbase. It means we (or at least a section of us) are prepared to see this franchise go in new directions and not bind it to the inclusion of certain characters in the games. NRS has proven themselves to value fan input, so the more we sensibly express this, the better odds there are of getting what we want. I swear Kitty, I wish I could give you thanks for that post XD

Edit: Made it to 100 and gave you the thanks :)

It would be nice, for a chance, to see the developers let go of fan favorites for once. Sure you're going to get a bunch of people ticked that so-and-so won't be in, but then it sets you up to like other characters. I am willing to wait and see if X drives us in that direction by having our favorites getting axed in the end and make us realize that we're getting a new generation of characters. If they stick with this for the next game, by golly gee wiz, I'm right there following it.

I just wish there can be more people willing to accept change for once. In my honest opinion, I truly don't see the characters being the only thing that defines Mortal Kombat. But according to a lot, they are.

Sub-Zero and Scorpion will never not be in a MK game. They tried it once, and fans cried so much that they released like 10 Ninjas in UMK3/Trilogy to make up for it.

Granted they may never be not in a game, but one may never know :marchmellow:

But that's the exact mindset I'm talking about and wishing that it could change for once. It might never will, but I would like to see it happen once.

I think it would be nice for a change that, for just one game, we have an all-ninja MK roster. Just for one game is all I ask.

I, personally, would be very happy to not see Raiden/Scorpion/Sub-Zero/Johnny/Sonya/Liu/Jax/Kano in a game or two, but let's be realistic. NRS so desperately clings on to their favourites, that even when they do sit out 1-2 of them, they'll develop a newcomer that is essentially a clone of that character.

Well this is just great, considering he was the best source for MKX info.

Can y'all see why I made this thread now?

If I was the guy he's writing that to, I'd laugh and tell him when he can write a perfectly structured sentence that makes sense with no grammatical errors, I'll take him seriously. Otherwise, I'll continue laughing at his bogus writing skills.

It's sad that a game causes the stupidity to come out. It's even more sad when the stupidity becomes even greater that causes people to fear.

I'd like to know when people became so selfish lately. I don't recall them being this horrible a few years ago. What changed?

I think it's the mere fact that since MK9 was a reboot, people were resigned to the fact that their favourites of the 3D era weren't going to make it in. Now that we're passed that, and since we saw Shinnok in the MK9 cliffhanger, people had hope that their favourites would be reinstated, but became aggressive at the same time because of the doubts that they have in the back of their mind due to the 3D era not being popular.

The worst part is, is that someone called out the guy who said that, and his response was "I'll be over to your house next".

What the hell makes him think that this is ok.

That's just how some people are.

It's like reading comments on certain articles. Every now and then ABC7 posts an article about how some person killed another, and then fifty comments later you read the same exact thing: Gimme five minutes with this person and I'll do the same exact thing to them.

They think doing the same thing to that person is justifiable. I don't get it, and probably never will. But that's just how some people are, but it doesn't make them look better than the original. It just makes them look the same as that person. Nor is it an excuse to act low either.
