Perfect game to send Baraka packing

There's actually great potential for him, just like a Reptile for Kotal Kahn. Baraka is the general of Mileena's army so already relevant to the story. He does not need many lines, though he easily could have.

That's why I said in ky opening: NRS has made a choice not to develop him and therefore he seems like a punching bag. That's exactly the reason I think they could have him in tjis game, where he's relevant.

Sure, they could bring him back next game, but what's the purpose. I rather he be sent packing (only appearing in Armageddon/ trilogy type games) over coming back, only to be a punching bag again. That way we can move on as well, I wouldn't mind if they kept going forward with the story and keep less MK9 characters around as the years go on in MK11, 12 etc.

Baraka should have been slain in the last game. He did nothing memorable at any point and has become nothing more than a lackey to the big bad. Most characters deserve another shot in this new timeline. Baraka's come back in MK9 was a fail.

*sigh* So typical.
I've seen this so much. As soon someone says something bad about another character, there's ALWAYS someone else trying to use that person's favourite character against him.

Me: "I don't like Scorpion, because..."
Scorpion fan: "Oh yeah? But Jade is STUPID!"

... This has happened to me on numerous occasions, and now I see this happen against Tanyas Husband, just because he says his opinion about Baraka. Seriously, it's not a freaking competition.

The OP's favorite kharacter is Baracka and although that kharacter is left out he didn't mind but has hope of a return in a later offering. Then Tanyafan gives their input on why Tanya should be in and not Baracka even though he's a fan as well. It's the same thing, we are not going to have the same intrest in kharacters and we all have opinions on why our kharacter(s) are more deserving than others.
Right now here's the truth, Baracka got left behind for now or ever and Tanya is just extra. Maybe Baracka will become just extra as well.

I just don't get all this discussion about who's favourite character is better. In the end, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter how many people like one character over the other, it doesn't matter what relevance the characters have to the story, it doesn't matter how many games either character have been in...

When it comes to liking a character, all that matters is how the character appeals to YOU! You shouldn't have to justify why you like that character. That YOU find it interesting and that YOU like his/her story and gameplay, design and what not, that's the only reasons you need, and it doesn't matter what others think.

Maybe that other Tarkatan could've pulled the trigger when he was playing with that gun...

It's perfectly reasonable to state why a character doesn't deserve to be in without being called out by other members due to the character in which the person commenting is a fan of. All it does is cause trouble and wars over the relevance of characters, which is not what this thread is about, this thread is about BARAKA'S RELEVANCE ONLY.

Therefore, please refrain from bringing up characters that users are fans of in an attempt to defend YOUR character. I'm a fan of Scorpion and in MK9 the dude had shit all to do with story relevance.

Taj, I agree but it always ends in a verbal fallout over why this or my kharacter is better debates.
If you REALLY want to participate in those "this character is better" debates, all you have to say is "Trent Dilfer is better than Dan Marino".

Baraka could have been an interesting character in MKX. There are a million and one ways that NRS could have done this if they considered him a priority. They didn't.

Ah well. I'm a bit disappointed, but there's always MK11. He won't stay gone long.

Baraka is the last character I really want to appear in this game, hopefully as DLC if he isn't an unlockable character (which I doubt). Not just because he's a cool character (which he is) but because he's my best friend's favorite character and I would hate to see him bummed out at him not making it in.

Baraka is an awesome character who should have a decent role in this story. He is the leader of the Tarkatans and as such is probably one of Mileena's higher up cronies. Unfortunately for him he is and has always been a mook, minion, or grunt to whatever villain is in charge at the time. Because of this his storyline is never really developed.

Another big problem he faces is that villains suffer big time in this new timeline in large part because of the Story Chapters. All the heroes get story chapters in which they get to defeat multiple villains. And the villains? They get to beat up again, and again, and again. That leaves a villain who doesn't contribute much to the story little to do besides serve as a punching bag for whatever good guy is going through his or her chapter.

What Baraka (and other villains) need is some time to shine. Have Baraka kill some side characters, or even a major character. Have him win a damn fight for once.

Baraka should be in, he's one of the more generally recognized characters (usually not his name, but look), he's variants would be somewhat easy to come up with and fatalities would be sickening, as for character progression, he's an army general there's plenty options for him and if not Baracka another tarkatan should be in his place

He had four special moves if you want to call them that.
1. Blade projectile
2. Drop kick
3. Double stab
4. Blade shred? (His best move)

2-4 weren't anything but combo finishers and very predictable. He would need a serious overhaul to kompete not just to satisfy loyalist.

Not true, I guess you haven't played him since MK2. Still, a lot of characters only have a few go-to moves and if they can make Goro, Tanya, Tremor, Jason, Jax among others work, they sure can make Baraka work. If it is one thing that NRS has proven, they are amazing when coming up with all these different variations and styles!! That's why I think regardless of who's in or who's out, most characters will probably be awesome since there's at least one variation you can find to your liking.

And that's why I said that he'd need an overhaul to make him compete and not just be another character option.

Uhmmm and, what's your point? Overhaul is just your opinion, plenty of people acknowledge his potential. Just another character option, someone is salty..

You're funny, salty? How? Please explain....I'm not the guy/gal who's trying to validate his inclusion. It seems that the salt is heavy on your side of the plate. Please explain how Baraka made the story better, by being the lacky that always got his a55 whooped or the limited dialogue from a mouth that doesn't move?
