Roster Speculation

Liu Kang is not going to be in the game. You can't prove it.

The Klassic Pack #1:
Playable character Tanya
Klassic skins for Kano, Sonya and Liu Kang

Kano, Sonya AND Tanya are going to be in the game. I guess it's 3/4 is a bad ratio.

MK_Guy82 knows even if you see a character that looks like liu kang, and fights like liu kang, and is named liu kang.

It won't be the Liu kang you think he is.

It'll be shang tsung disguised the whole game.

No.

18 characters

This is how I imagine your thoughts

Considering that they are adding in 8 or so brand new characters, 3 completely different gameplay styles per character, interact-able environments, and QTE's into MKX....

If someone didn't play or know Injustice was also NRS' doing, they would be looking at this game screaming "WTF ARE YOU DOING?!?". Playing it safe with the roster is probably the smartest thing to do while pushing this much of the envelope.

While I understand that, the roster is a bit too safe. Even if Liu Kang absolutely HAS to be in the game, I don't have an issue with it, I'm very indifferent towards him. But characters like Jax coming back and characters like Tanya being put as DLC is pushing it. Which is why it becomes tougher to digest the roster. If they wanted to, they could have kept some of the Trilogy crew and still managed to have a bit of balance in the roster and becoming more interesting as a result, but they didn't. This is only my opinion so no one needs to take it seriously but, did the returning cast really have to be so MK9-centric?

Pretty sure he's not gonna be in it.

Liu Kang will be back. How do i know? I don't, just like you and everyone else. But we can speculate and predict what most of entertainment industry spoon feeds the masses, ala Hollywood. They gave the "old faithful", "goody-two-shoes", Lui Kang the ultimate cliff hanger with his uncertain death by his mentor Raiden, leaving the audience wondering "is he really dead? will he be back? is he good or evil now?"

He's death seemed certain, but many are still left wondering if it's true or not.... So for that reason i believe he'll be back, judging on that that uncertainty alone. Doesn't really make sense, i know, but the MK, anyone can come back through resurrections, mis-directions, cyborgenetics, or hey, even online petitions!

We can also predict that they'll try to turn Lui "Bad" extending off his conflicting motives and intentions for the safety of Eatherrealm with Raiden, and oh yeah how Raiden freakin killed him. I doubt they'll have Lui go all out Evil and fight against Eathrealm but i'm guessing he'll be targeting, tormenting Raiden whom he believes is earth's real threat. Think something similar to how Scorpion wanted revenge on Sub-Zero.

but once again, thats all specualtion, but if Lui does return i hope he is all scorned and scared up. give this pretty boy some god damn edge! Lui Kangs initial MK1 character design was to be the tradition bald headed Shaolin monk style but the actor playing him in the game didn't want to shave his head, so maybe they can finally introduce the bald Lui Kang Shaolin monk warrior they intended with Lui's hair being all singed off by Raiden's lightning attack.

I think so, not because I want that to be the case. But one of the reasons MK9 did well is it brought in 3-D era fans, and the super old school nostalgic fans together.

Since they killed off like 90% of the mk9 roster. You could end up losing super old school fans because there isn't enough familiarity for them to feed off of.

But for them to put in pretty much ZERO post mk4 characters is kind of funny to me.

and oh yeah how Raiden freakin killed him. .

I think Liu Kang killed himself.

He was on fire, he was about to shoot fire at Raiden, Raiden rightfully defended himself, and Liu Kang burned himself and mis-directed his attack because of Raiden deflecting it.

That'd be like someone broke into your house, tried to shoot you, you put up a frying pan, and it deflected the bullet back at them.

Would you blame the pan man?

While I can understand that, a fair amount of MK4 on characters are just clones of other charaters or just so underdeveloped they just don't matter.

As someone whose only played MK1-3 and MK9, I must say that going through all the characters, the only ones that sound interesting are Havik, Shinnok, Reiko, and Bo Rai Cho.

And the only reason Reiko should be in is because it allows us to play Shao Khan while keeping Shao Khan a boss.

It's interesting you find Bo Rai Cho, more interesting than say Sareena(A Tragic character), or Kenshi(who was a clone of Ermac but got changed for the better, which could arguably be done for everyone), Hotaru (Pretty much the main dude from Order Realm) him and havik are pretty much rivals one wants order, one wants chaos.

Bo Rai Cho... while he trains monks.. he farts and barfs as part of his fighting style...

And I find that hilarious.

Kinda like the Witch Doctor in Diablo.

"I killed Diablo with my phenominal cosmic power!"

"I killed Diablo with spiders...."

I guess w/e floats your boat lol. I personally find it out of place in MK.

About as out of place as I'd find if they put a magical school girl as a playable character in MKX
