March 19th Kombat Kast Stream Thread

My thoughts on the stream:

I actually like Mileena in MKX. I've never liked her before.

Takeda is part of a Japanese clan, right? Why do they pronounce his name as ta-key-da? an E in Japanese is kind of like "eh." Almost like pronouncing the letter A in English. Just more proof that NRS is ignorant of culture. :rolleyes:

Takeda's gameplay is pretty good overall. He's interesting. I'm excited to play as him.

Kung Jin's gameplay is okay. Basically just a mixture of Green Arrow and Nightwing. His arrow attacks look kind of slow though. Almost like slow motion.

Quitality is kind of funny but will not deter quitting even a little bit. I wonder if the quitter will be watching it? Probably not.

New modes are kind of meh. Just offline casual modes that I'll play once or twice.

More eye poking stuff, really? Mileena's X-Ray and Fatality are bland. Everything in this game involves poking their eyes.
 
Very, very cool stream. Probably my favourite so far. :)

There's also a Smoke Assist btw, so that probably rules him out as well. I'm glad other people noticed those (Kabal, Cyrax, Rain, Stryker, etc.)

I wonder why Sonya and Jacqui are not on the roster, even though they've both been officially confirmed AFAIK. I think Goro is only on the default roster to show that he's playable, and to select him next (?) time; I want to see Erron Black and Shinnok confirmed soon!

They may not be in the consoles versions, but they may be playable on mobile.

Remember that Frost screen? Everyone thought it was fake. I'm 99% sure it's from mobile.
 
Takeda looks fun. I might play him at some point but of the characters shown off today, kung jin is definetly my favorite. I don't care that the bow variation is basically just green arrows variation. In fact that's the reason i'm drawn to kung jin. Arrow was my main in injustice so i'm happy i'm pretty much getting him back. He'll be the first shaolin character I actually give a damn about. It helps that he actually is entertaining.

Mileena looks like mileena. Which is cool for mileena fans. Really hope the next kombat kast they show off kenshi. It's all I've been waiting for but i'm not complaining since I found another new character in kung jin.
 
You know, Mileena always looked better when she was beautiful masked and horrible unmasked.

MK9 gave her a monstruous nose, exaggerated eyes. She looked nothing like Kitana.

I'm very pleased with her new look. She obviously has Kitana's face, but still an abomination.

It's funny, because she looks beautiful and extremely ugly (specially side view) at the same time.

Now she is a clone for real.

This is the post MK4 trap of scrapping old favorites and replacing them with new characters tuat have the same moves. If youre gonna give someone Cyrax or Stryker or Kabals moves, than just include one of those characters instead.

Takeda: Ugh, you been rolling in trash?
Reptile: Respect me, human.
Takeda: I'm serious, you smell awful.

Takeda: Reptile.
Reptile: I will rip out your throat.
Takeda: Settle down.

Takeda: What have you become?
Scorpion: I have returned to Quan Chi's service.
Takeda: Then the Shirai Ryu are your enemies.

Raiden: I sensed your arrival.
Takeda: Because I... wanted you to!
Raiden: I'm clearly in the presence of greatness.

Ferra: You no hurt we!
Kung Jin: I don't want to, but I can.
Ferra: No can! Smash, Torr!

Kung Lao: You provoke me?
Kung Jin: Just want to test myself against you.
Kung Lao: You are not ready.

Johnny Cage: Gonna test ya, Jin.
Kung Jin: Going to give me an A++!
Johnny Cage: Or be flat on your A.S.S.

Kitana: You are unfit to live.
Mileena: Shao Kahn disagreed.
Kitana: His realm thinks as I do.

Kitana: *unknown*
Mileena: You care too much for me.
Kitana: I do not wish to soil my hands.

Kano: Mileena.
Mileena: I want my gold back, Kano!
Kano: Sorry, no refunds.
 
I wonder if the moddifiers of the deconfirmed characters will be used by the opponents/players during the Story Mode. Rain's bubbles could be used during the Mileena vs Kotal Kahn match. Kabal's blades can be used during a fight with the undead characters. Stuff like that.
 
I can't BELIEVE they gave Takeda pulse blades. Just when I thought my mans Sek had a chance (barely). I'm honestly so sad, but the characters look phenomenal. Really hoping Shinnok is able to fill the void.

Mileena's mouth is the best it has ever looked. The lipless, gutter mouth action was a little old to me. Her hair physics are also surprisingly good.

Yes that is so cheap, so instead of focusing all his style upon his awesome new weapons they give him and Kung Jin MULTIPLE weapons... they don't need multiple, the staff-bow and Omega Whip are all they need! Keep those swords for Sektor DLC!

Damn and I hate it Rain doesn't get arrogant conversations EVER, as he won't be DLC also...

I'm beginning to doubt the 3 variations system, rather seen 30 characters with each 2 variations. Many of the third variations seem kinda cheap rip-offs from other characters, I always only like two of them. (Spare for Mileena, who has 3 awesome variations) Like Kitana's Jade variation could go, Reptiles Kabal variation and Takeda's Cyrax variation all are kinda cheap.

Man Smoke was my guy in the last game but if he doesn't make the cut then I'm really liking Takeda!
Also, this might be old news but they changed Kung Laos hat back from that spikey blade thing to a straight edge razor! Game looks great so far!
 
Takeda plays good but his costume... never gonna like it.

Kung Jin on the other hand was a blast to watch!!!! He's VERY tall.

Mileena plays with her sais!

Very happy so far.
 
The remaining 7 are obviously shinnok, sonya, jax, jacqui, liu kang and erron black. If you're expecting anything more you will be disappointed.
