Hmm, I don't think that's true. Reiko's popularity only peaked within the last two months, thanks to the comic. It's entirely possible that the roster was finalized long before Kittelsen and Boon hashed out the comic, or if not, then at least before Ed Boon realized just how much of a fan favorite the comic was turning Reiko into.

I think he has a shot of making DLC.

The Kombat Pack for Mortal Kombat X includes Two Guest Characters, one being Jason Voorhees and Two Klassic Mortal Kombat characters as well as a Samurai Skin pack including Ronin Kenshi, Samurai Shinnok and Jingu Kitana skins. Full press release below:

"In celebration of Friday 13th, today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirmed details for the Mortal Kombat™ X Kombat Pack, the ultimate pass providing fans with Mortal Kombat™ X downloadable content (DLC), some of which will be available beginning at launch. The Kombat Pack will include access to four playable characters still in development, including horror icon from the Friday the 13th films, Jason Voorhees, as well as two Klassic Mortal Kombat Kombatants and another special guest character. In the UK the Kombat Pack is included in the Mortal Kombat™ X Premium Edition, and will be available for purchase separately for £24.99.

Starting 14th April, 2015, when Mortal Kombat™ X launches worldwide, fans who purchase the Kombat Pack will receive the Samurai Pack containing three new character skins: Ronin Kenshi, Samurai Shinnok and Jingu Kitana, as well as an accompanying skin pack with each playable character. Kombat Pack owners will gain early access to the following future DLC content before it is available for sale individually."

Not Spawn or Predator. Jason is the most boring character they could have made DLC... I am disappointed.
 
I think Reiko, Rain and Havik will be on the main roster or we will find them out in story mode of mkx (Like Quan Chi and Cyber-Subzero). As for dlc, i really want to see;

I'm fine with it.
The Kombat Pack said 2 guests and 2 Klassic Kombatants, so I wonder who the other 3 characters are.

Also, to clarify, the Kombat Pack gives you early access to those skins, not to the DLC characters, per the conversation that I had with Rigo a few months ago.

Yeah, nearly half the price of the main game just for playing as 4 characters? No, thanks. I won't purchase. Maybe I will when it's less expensive.

This is also why I didn't preorder the collector's edition. Ten euros is not very much but only for another Scorpion skin? Which I btw did not like at all.
