Hey... uh.. you all. What's your thoughts on THIS one?

Yeah, you all... seriously. Misucra isn't even in the wrong here. I get it. He was talking about the writing and I understand why he would express his opinion that in that one instance, it was bad writing. Hell, if you ask me, I think he's being really light about the whole thing because even though the writing is okay, I think it's far too sparse for my blood in the long run. The Injustice comic is better by a long shot.

What I don't understand is the chauvinistic (I don't really have a better word for what I'm seeing here) and dismissive attitude that a lot of members here have about other members and their REAL fandom of the game. Such as "It's fiction. It's not a big deal and you SHOULDN'T care about it." Shakespeare is also fiction and his work is one of the MOST IMPORTANT pieces of English history. The case I'm making is that there's nothing wrong with being passionate about our stories and our fictions. It's called having fun. It's called bringing meaning to the world that we live in. And no, I'm not foolish enough to compare Mortal Kombat to Shakespeare, but I'm certainly not going to knuckle drag dismiss someone's love for a fictional game because one fails to see any value whatsoever in our fictions. Fiction is one the most serious things humanity engages in. My god, people go to church over the shit. Without stories. Without drama. Without these fictions, life is pretty god damned dry and tends to be REALLY boring. Contrary to what many might think here, fiction isn't something to dismiss when you get annoyed by a fan's love for the game to remind them that their admiration for it shouldn't matter. Quite the contrary. Fiction matters... a lot, really. And it's pretty d!ckish to actually snub the game and relegate it to a place of unimportance simply because you're being inconvenienced with a fan's love for the game IN AN APPROPRIATE THREAD NO LESS.

More and more, I have to say that I'm glad we have members like p.W. Kitty_55 and Misucra because their intelligent appreciation for all the dimensions of this game is admirable compared to those who simply like to run away from serious and engaging discussions by saying "La la la! It's just fiction, it doesn't matter!" when honestly, talking about art IMO is one of the best activities that any person can engage in. Honestly. If it's just fiction and unimportant and shouldn't be taken even remotely seriously, then why are you and I or anyone else even here? Let's not kid ourselves. Let's not try to pretend that somehow we're above the admiration of Mortal Kombat. We're all here because it matters to us on some level.

Yeah and I asked why? And then all this shit went to "you're defender of Frost". We are in a motherf%king thread about Frost, people. What the hell I should write here. Stories about popsickles?

To be perfectly honest, this thread was just what we all thought the image was in the original post. If it was a fake or not. It really wasn't asking what we all think how Frost should be playing if she were to be included in X or her appearance in the comics.

Oh look at that, this post made me a Hollywood Superstar.

Anyways, sure threads could always go into other topics, I'm just saying, this thread originally was just what we all thought a picture was.

Well, this escalated quickly lol.
I agree Misucra is biased towards Frost, but there's nothing wrong whith that. Our opinions are all sujetive and, being a Frost fan who dedicated a lot of time thinking how to revamp her, he didin't like the direction the comic took with her. I can understand that.
You guys are giving him/her too much shit about it though.

On topic: I know they can probably make any character cool but, if they have to change Frost's whole moveset and appearence to make her different from Sub-Zero AND change her personality and backstory to make her not look like an idiot.... I see no point, just make a new character IMO

Heck, a diehard Frost fan thought you were biased.

Aaaand? Is that supposed to mean something? You do realize that there is also a group of people who would say that you guys went bat shit crazy by stating that I assaulted people by saying that I didn't like a certain part in comics?

I never said there was anything wrong with his opinion. I just stated that he was biased and a little salty over the way they treated Frost.

Yeah but you know the funny thing is, that I didn't mention anything about wanting Frost to be in game (there is a thread made by me about that, you know) I also replied to other person so didn't even start going off topic, I just continued. But the thing is that off topic was still a topic about Frost. Not about Havik or Scorpion.

Considering that she's always cold and she doesn't sweat, I bet if she were real Frost would have an alright smelling pussy

He was salty over the writing, not because Frost god her ass kicked. It's your all's problem that you refuse to believe what he's telling you. I think he made a great point. It actually IS kinda weird to see her charge up an ice ball and then in the next frame not use it and instead do something stupid. It's a failure of Chekov's Gun. She charged up an ice ball. You expect her to use it somehow and then the writer literally drops the ball.

If you want to address my claims, how about addressing me directly instead of going around it?

And please reread what I said. I said we all come here for the love of the GAME itself, but a major theme in the lead up to release is the whining of members in regards to this character not being in, this character is undeserving over this character, how dare you think my favourite character is useless, blah freaking blah.

Really?

My stance will never change, the game itself is more important than your favourite character, the game itself should trump everything else including whether your favourite character makes it in, gets ruined, etc. Oh and before anyone says "you're a Scorpion fan, you got nothing to worry about", I've repeatedly commented on how it would be wonderful if Scorpion's soul moves on and he never appears in a game ever again. It is completely different to love the universe/franchise/media as a whole in which these characters belong to, than becoming personally invested into a character itself. People may have their favourites, me included, but to me the bigger picture is important, which is the game itself.

And following up on what Kitty_55 said, this was to discuss a picture, but it quickly evolved into another Tanya/Rain thread where all of a sudden there's the need to talk about the character's inclusion, and hella bias being thrown around by Misucra. Reading his previous post, I understand where we differ and he has his opinion, I have mine and I'm sticking to it.

I still fail to see biased part.
There was a statement about a fight. I said that statement was wrong (in my opinion) and showed a proof.
Also once again. I look at the comic as an artist myself (I am not saying it is cool or something just telling my point of view). Everyone sees everything from a different point.
If to say in very basic terms. I didn't like how the very fight was concluded. What kind of characters were involved didn't really matter for me.
"Salty" term would be correct if I couldn't live with that result. "Salty" would be someone like The Walking Dead, Beth fans. That is "Salty".

I consider myself a huge Tekken fan. I've owned every entry of the series and plan on buying Tekken 7 day one.
But if they ever made a Tekken game without King I wouldn't even buy that shit from the bargain bin.

Sometimes a single character can make or break a game for someone.

I am really feeling that I am speaking with a wall here.
Let's make this super simple. AGAIN:
1. I don't give a shit that Frost got her ass kicked.
2. I give a shit that fight was concluded in such cheap way.
3. I use Frost and Cassie because they were participants in the mentioned fight.
4. Stop that bullshit "but a major theme in the lead up to release is the whining of members in regards to this character not being in, this character is undeserving over this character, how dare you think my favourite character is useless, blah freaking blah.
NO SERIOUSLY. Give me ONE. At least ONE example form my posts where I said that game will suck if Frost is not in it. And I am not talking about this thread alone.
Wanting for character to be in your favorite game and being interested in the game because of certain character is two goddamn different things.

But being arrogant and not so bright is Frost whole personality though, I don't think that was out of character. It was totally unnecesary to make her charge the ice attack and not using it at all, I'll give you that. They probably just wanted to show Frost powers a bit.

Then with all due respect, I consider that pretty damned fickle.

OH SHIT! It's an internet tough guy!!! Sorry Taj, but you're not the only one with that attitude. There was others and there was other times instead of just this thread alone.

Yeah, that happens. Lots of drama royalty up in this joint. But I haven't seen it in here, except for the oh-so-putupon "universal lovers of the game"s circle jerk over being annoyed at how other people express their fandom.

Yeah, but that's like... your opinion, man. You don't have the right nor the ability to tell us how to like the game. I graciously, disrespect your assessment on the matter. Normally, I like your posts but damn. The way you like the game isn't the only way to like the game. If it bothers you that much, then fight me IRL, bruh!

Yeah. Imagine that. A thread about Frost turned into a discussion about Frost. Yeah, we all have opinions like we have assholes. But for the love of Mortal Kombat, use some of my toilet paper, homie cause it looks like you're running pretty low.

I concluded that we have differing views. But you keep pushing.

You may not have said this game would suck without Frost, but you have defended the shit out of her when people say she's useless or she sucks. Which coincides with the third point I made. Do I immediately jump the gun and question anything negative people say about Scorpion? No because it's not a big deal.

The thing is in original timeline Frost showed her immaturity outside of fighting. Then it came to fighting she was considered as a genius. Sub Zero was impressed himself how well she controlled her ice powers at such young age. So she had brains. Problem was, she was too confident and power hungry and that... darkened her mind. She also didn't fight Sub Zero himself directly (first time), but used an opportunity to strike him when he was vulnerable. So again she knows how to fight and doesn't mess around. Because of that reason I doubt her decision in telling her life story to some "beverly hills brat", instead of just killing her.

I respectfully asked you to reference me directly, no one here is being a tough guy, just because you are asked of something doesn't mean you should automatically jump the gun and assume I wanna fight you. For someone who says you love my posts, you quickly entered defense mode with words like "Internet tough guy", "fight me bruh", "Here's some toilet paper" when I was respectfully addressing what you said.

Like I said above, I acknowledge mine and Misucra's differing views on the topic. This argument isn't going to get anywhere when it's opinion based. All I said is that it's annoying when arguments ensue over a specific character, and it evolved into this. Some, like you and Misucra may disagree, others may agree with me.
