Every character has universal specials and it's doubtful Kitana's don't involve her fans.

Keep in mind the variations don't change the moveset too much. A character's moveset generally remains 90% the same across variations. A few specials are removed and/or added, and rarely some normals are removed/added, but most normals and specials are kept. The general change is in play style, because the different specials and/or normals can encourage a player into playing a certain way (rushdown, anti-zoning, etc).

I could be wrong, but none of the characters shown so far have had a variation that is so radically different from the others in terms of moveset, so it's unlikely to change now.

I agree on the skin tone but I prefer the silver mask.

I know but I figure that since they're already giving her a different weapon why not go all the way and have her play completely different. just by having the staff as well she's looking to be the most diverse character so far.

So other than Reptile and Kitana variations, fatalities and art that they're going to be showing today, does anyone think we will be getting any surprises during the stream?
 
If they don't show us anything else than the variations I will be really disappointed. Fatalities... unless they show us the second ones... ditto.

I doubt we'll be getting surprises. Obviously for me I don't care. Can't wait to see what they've done with Reppers!
 
I thought Kitana's Mournful variation has her using a combination of both Jade's staff and her fans? I don't necessarily see her using just Jade's staff unless she's also using her boomerang in which it'll make perfect sense for her not to use her fans.

But I don't really see her not using her signature weapon in Mournful. I guess we'll just have to wait for today.

Also, with Reptile's fatality, I hope he's crushing the skull and not prying it apart. It would be a whole lot gruesome to see them just make the human skull look like a slushy rather than doing the norm by ripping it in half.

I would love this. And knowing NRS with their Easter Eggs, I wouldn't doubt it one bit. It would be paying homage to the iconic scene between Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane and Oberyn "the Viper" Martell from Game of Thrones.

Well i hope that its a combination of Kitana and Jade's moves. I would be disappointed if Kitana just used jades exact moves. The only light in that tunnel for me would be if she uses Jade's weapons in a totally new and original way .

I gotta disagree. IMO the "norm" has always been "head explodes".

I'd much rather see him pull the skull apart. I don't know why, it just seems a little more violent.
