All it takes is for a person to get controlled by One Being through the Kamidogu. So far, Raiden, Kortal, Kano and Subzero are ruled out since they are confirmed playable. The only people I can see having any other connection to the kamidogu so far are Daegon and Fujin.

There was that ending in MK4 where Reiko puts on Shao Khans helmet. I know they retconned that in MK Armageddon by saying "well he just likes to sneak into Shao Khans throne room and wear his helmet for fun" but still.

Same here.

Also, that's a great way to reference the non-Trilogy and post-MK3 characters who weren't also in MK9, by using "non-MK9 characters."
I think I may use that from now on. ;)
 
I am really looking forward to see Fujin. From all non-MK9 characters I can see him playing a big role in story mode. Also his wind variations can be sick. Same with Shinnok. I can see him using bone hands, morphing and having demon like powers. Reiko and Tanya can be great too. Fujin, Shinnok, Reiko and Tanya from MK4 have to be in. From MKDA and MKD I only need Havik. The last character from MK9 I really need is Reptile. Can't wait to see his design and his variations. Please, Ed, don't bring back Jax, Kabal etc. Don't waste the slots.

I would love if Reiko was someone to be beaten on the game.

Imagine a cutscene reaching Shao Kahn's throne room and meeting him there.

He just throws the helmet on the floor and makes the challenge.

Better make him far more dangerous than his MK:A appearance, because he was hard to beat.
 
It's been updated from his MK4 costume. But it is identical to the one he had in Armageddon.



The panel in the comic that shows Sub-Zero fighting off the cyborgs. Looks like my worst fear has come true and Sektor is going to be killed in the comic. Pretty disappointed considering how amazing of a job they did with him in MK9, but at the same time I never really saw a place for him in MKX anyway. Oh well. I'm sure there'll be others to fill the void.

I was referring to that... it's not a new costume, so we can take that as a clue.... look, every character revealed so far, appears with the new costume in the comic... but, characters which have been already confirmed as not playable like Hsu hao, appear with their latest costume, which can be also translated as the mka outfit...
That's why i think mileena is totally confirmed as playable, due her new outfit... i don't think they will design a new costume just for the comic.... even if it's mileena...
So, sorry, but i think Fujin won't make it....
 
Fujin will probably make it. Even if he isn't playable, I'd bet money that he's in the story. Trying to help guide Raiden's visions.

Totally agreed, he will be part of the story without a doubt, but the fact his outfit hasn't been redesigned says a lot about him being playable....

I'll have to disagree with you, just because they die in the comic doesn't translate them not beign playable in the game. so do you really think they're gonna do an amazing job with forrest fox just to tease us and not have him make the cut? he has one of the best designs if u ask me. and can't wait to see his variation.
 
They already said that not everyone in the comic will be in the game. The writer is going to try and make every character seem like the product of an "amazing job". They don't want you to think "Wow I'm glad this character is written like shit, otherwise I'd might think he's in the game".

I'm certain this is the last we've seen of Fox. He was nothing but a plot tool.

Sub-Zero and Kano are the best examples that this theory about wearing old outfits in the comic = not being playable in MKX isn't true. Fujin will be in this game.
 
I believe Fujin will make it in the Playable Roster.......He better be in the damn Roster........Oh God please let Fujin be in the Roster.

......Plus, Fujin gave off a strong Anime vibe in the comics. He legit looks like a character ripped straight out of Bleach or Attack on Titan.

There you are making a big mistake... unlike raiden who is a god and doesn't age, kano is human... we can assume this part of the story is just 5 years later than mk9, so it's obvious they won't design a suit for each of kano's stages...
But, I'm sure when the timeline of the comic reaches the timeline of the game they will have to change his outfit...
In the case of sub, we still don't have a real clue of which sub it is.. besides, we've seen 3 different outfits for him in the comic, so, maybe there are lot of subs, like someone at nrs already explained... but I'm sure the playable sub zero will appear with his new outfit in the comic in due time....
However, if an immortal character like Fujin appears with his old outfit, his probabilities aren't so high... for example mileena who doesn't really age appears with a totally revamped one... so, there you go...

I support this for OBVIOUS reasons. However, I've also been saying that, with the new timeline, it is very possible that Reiko could be Kahn in this timeline. As I stated in a previous thread's post, Kahn could have been punished by being sentenced to eternity in the Netherrealm by the Elder Gods after they take his most prized possessions: the war hammer and helmet. The way I see it, he could end up plotting his revenge by taking on a new identity (just like how Bi Han became known as "Noob Saibot") and getting in good with Shinnok and the Brotherhood of Shadow solely for the opportunity to avenge what happened to him and eventually, take back Outworld. Would be a huge push for Reiko and a great nod to the old "Reiko is Kahn" theories.

That makes no sense. The characters designs don't have to do with their inclusion in the game.

Frost has a new costume, so she must be in he game right?

Agreed 100%.
I don't see what old costumes have to do with inclusion of exclusion from the game, and Sub-Zero and Kano are perfect examples, like you said.
I expect Fujin to be fully playable, given the deleted Tweet from Ed Boon.
That's likely a strong hint that he gave away / let slip, in which he picked up on his mistake.
