Interesting point of view, but I think this is more likely far from truth. Maybe we get the impression of a Shao Kahn armour because the texture of SubZero's robes are close of the Emperor on this game. The thing is that the head part is really close to Kahn's infamous helmet, I admit. But also, the helmet is based on Samurai style (even though the cryomancer is from chinese heritage).

Considering Kuai Liang's soul was revived in the Netherrealm as cyborg, I think it that it's easier for Noob to do like Scorpion on MK:D and escape the Soulnado through the void. Maybe the Elder Gods decided to purify his soul, the Elder SubZero was a hell of an ally against Shinnok, who can be one of the threats of this game.

If this happens, I admit I will miss Noob.

We've been duped before on "(such and such a character) is Shao Kahn." If the Reiko thing was a ruse, then how can the Sub-Zero thing be legit?

Could it be a coincidence that Sub-Zero forms other weapons from his ice abilities other than swords?

I admit, that pose is close to Kahn's and the armor seems similar but like others concluded: It could also just be a samurai styled ice armor OR could just be ice. Its hard to tell at this point.

About his eye, I figured his eyes were glowing from his ice abilities.. and that is fades out because he was dying.. No more ability.

Well, of course this is speculation, and for this one, I won't bet on this right now, because this is so plot twisting that it will need a very ambitious and well designed story, and we don't have much about the plot.

But not only Cyber SubZero is interesting. Nightwolf's MK9 ending also hints Shao Kahn's ability of cheating death by transporting his soul too.

For this to happen, I really think it will require an amazing story (and I already think it will be an amazing one).

I think it's Onaga, but Boon said that the new villain will be a "fun...surprise returning character...not a lot of people will see it coming".

Anyway, here is SubZero frozen looking to the camera, it does not look as Kahn at all, and the "horns" seems to be truly icey spikes, and the clothing does not changes.

sub-zero's defense variation says he can create an ice armor. It vaguely resembles Shao kahns armor. I don't think its shao kahn at all just sounds like your reaching for this one. I think the reason they showed the CS and NW endings was to illustrate that "you can't just kill shao kahn" he will most likely just transplant himself into another body, hence the elder gods intervening and carrying him away rather than just seeing him explode. (it also explains the spire of light in MK3)

I think that the version of SZ we've seen so far is unfinished and we are seeing a "rough draft" of his armor

If you pay close attention when sub zero freezes people, and when he freezes himself at the beginning of his xray, he unmistakably resembles shao kahn. Also when he wins a round he does it and makes the same audio as kahn in mk9.. it seems like sub zero will be the elder gods champion in this timeline by somehow merging kahn into bi-han sounds like its makes sense

Then I will tweet Vogel and ask "Why Sub-Zero is Shao Kahn?" and he will say "We wanted Sub-Zero to be Sub-Zero, but then turned out that Shao Kahn is the big threat until MKXXII."

In the old timeline, but everything is different now.. Instead of scorp the elder gods choose sub zero and do it in a different way by giving him kahns essense or some shit.. im sure it will be explained how, id bet its how subz is brought back in human form, in cyromancer form, and later on he takes over lin keui with his badass kahn/sub powers and becomes grand Master /thread

So I'm new to the forums but I have an interesting theory on this sub zero conundrum. Think about what happened to Noob Saibot in MK9, he was kicked into a soulnado. The last time a wraith of the neatherrealm was put in a soulnado was Scorpion in MKDA. Scorpion Met with the elder gods and became their champion with the promise they would restore his clan. Although they made them zombies a similiar agreement might have been made between Bi-Han and the elder gods where they restored him as sub zero in exchange for services or simply for no reason.

"They need a better protector!" So i think the elder gods restore bi han to be raidens replacement as earthrealm protector.. wonder where this leaves Fujin??? Hmmmmmm

When I read that, and I bet [MENTION=5028]Araknyd_Commander[/MENTION] thought the same (if he saw), this rumor is always getting a stronger base.

Ok, we can discover that it's nothing of this, but for speculation purposes, it's the best so far.

But there is something amazing too. Of course Sub-Zero's identity is maybe the thing that I most want to know (disconsider the whole plot, ok?), but have you noticed Raiden's position?

I think Raiden may be going on his same "corrupt" path, but this time he may not need to sacrifice himself (unfortunately for that amazing costume), because as I said once, Raiden was not corrupted, he just reached the apex of understanding of Elder God's omission, so his "dark" appearance was the best representation of "doing what [he thinks] should be done" next to the EGods BS.

After Quan Chi's trailer, and what Shaun said, I'm starting to think Sub-Zero is just undead Kuai, which could be another explanation for "Fear their powers, Raiden!" But I still hope it's Bi-Han, that speculation is too interesting and legit to just die.

The Quan Chi trailer stated that all the dead warriors are under Quan Chi's control and that he has an army made up of those EarthRealm warriors, so Kuai-Liang is still likely under his control.

Seems like MKX Sub-Zero is either Bi-Han or a new Sub-Zero altogether.

That does make sense to me. I have no idea why they would give one of his minions the option to be playable, but not the others.

Exactly.
My guess is that all of them stay dead and serve Quan Chi in MKX, and the more popular ones out of those dead MAY show up as DLC (Kitana, Kung Lao, etc, etc)
