Raiden WILL appear

It's truly not a matter of interpretation. There was only one fight. lol Kahn shows up and throws Raiden around like a toy while Raiden patiently waits for the Gods to show up and lay down the law. They power him up and he fights Kahn for real.

This.
(I love you too, btw, Sub-Zero, but I hold my stance on this.)

Being thrown around like a rag doll =/= fighting.
One person doing all the attacking, with the other one being unresponsive =/= a fight.
That's a one-sided beating, plain and simple.
The only fight was the part where you take control and Raiden and Kahn duke it out.
While getting his ass beat was likely not a part of he plan, Raiden stalling Kahn for a while until the elder gods arrive, IS.

i hope they do raiden with white skin like in MK2 and figure a way to explain how he got that way in the story.

i duno i just think he looked awesome and mysterious with white skin.

Raiden only faked his defeat. That much was clear. I just don't get why the Elder Gods weren't paying attention in the first place and that it took Shao Kahn believing he won to finally spark their interest.

I haven't gone through the whole thread so forgive me if I'm repeating what somebody else might have mentioned.

Remember that the One Being's consciousness is what affected Onaga and Shao Kahn to merge all realms in existence and thus be whole again. With Earthrealm as the centre of power compared to the other realms I think the Elder Gods noticed that it would then be easier for Shao Kahn to conquer and merge with the remaining realms.

This is clearly something they do not want given that they had that war with the One Being and split its consciousness into multiple realms in the very beginning.

I think that Shao Kahn had Skarlet follow Quan Chi and learn of his plans with Shinnok then Kahn used Reiko as a decoy and that's who Raiden defeated.

Kahn is still alive and just lurking in the Shadows. Still recovering from his wounds the Lin Queia(Spelling) captured him and transformed him into Cyber Kahn

Considering Raiden has been in every game except MK3, I would be absolutely shocked if he weren't in MKX. No pun intended

To my knowledge, the only games he wasnt in were MK3, UMK3, and Special Forces. And with MK3 it was plot related.

MK3 wasn't just plot-related. There were behind the scenes issues involved as well. The real story behind Raiden's absence was that this was punishment for Carlos Pesina being in a game competing with MK (it was either Tattoo Assassins or Thea Realm Fighters, if I remember correctly).

Ever since MK9, Kid NOVA realizes that Raiden is the villain of the game. The caused everyone's death and blasted LKang. If this one was in the MK universe, he would seek to destroy Raiden & have him replaced by Shinnok as protector of Earth Realm.

It was Tattoo Assassins and Bloodstorm, which Daniel Pesina had also done a promo for, showing up dressed up as Johnny Cage.

You're 100% correct, though, Tarkatan Trash.
Raiden not being in MK3 and UMK3 had nothing to do with the story.
That fabricated MK3 and UMK3 story is something that Midway made up, to cover for Carlos (Raiden sprite actor) and Daniel (Johnny Cage and "ninja" sprite actor) being fired, thus why Raiden and Johnny Cage weren't in MK3.

Right.

I sometimes forget Raiden was played by Johnny Cages/Ninja's actor.
