Is Ed Boon sure he's doing the right thing?

The general consensus is that the fans want an evil Liu Kang...well, you can do that by making him a "win at all costs" type of character. Meaning make him capable of cheating.

And besides, that's not a steroid body. THIS is what you call a steroid body.

I think people are gonna think Liu Kang is gonna dabble in dark magic or something, when other fighters have weapons and bionic arms then steriods are gonna be pretty useless

Liu Kang is boring, because they have never emphasized his backstory the way they should. He is boring because no one likes a die-hard winner that always wins. People like seeing weakness, struggle, and overcoming them.

Hence, Batman is more popular than Superman, because he is mortal to the extreme. Has weaknesses, yet overcomes them.

Superman is god-like, and it is harder to appreciate someone who is so perfect and flat.

Scorpion and Sub-Zero are the most popular, because they are not the best, but they can defeat almost anybody and if they cannot, are headstrong and are not afraid to try.

They have interesting backstories and yeah, the revenge story for Scorpion is getting played out, which is what I appreciated in MKDA to MKA. His story was changing to something different (Elder God's champion and changing targets by seeking Quan Chi, battling the Oni duo of Drahmin and Moloch...)

Liu Kang though is near unstoppable. He does not struggle at all killing Shao Kahn, overshadows Kung Lao (a much more interesting and cooler character) and cries about everything. He's our Anakin Skywalker, in my own very opinion, except he's even more powerful and cannot be beaten... well, for the most part.

To make him MORE cliche, they made him a zombie who is now used by his former master (Evil Raiden revives him and uses him like an executioner on the injustices they see everyday) hmmm much like Palpatine uses Vader?

To me, Liu Kang has never been properly given emphasis on anything other than he's the best, can beat anyone, and is a crybaby .

However, he is important to the MK lore. He is the Michael Jordan of MK and without him, we do not have the third guy in the wonderful trio of Chosen Earthrealm fighters.

I think he should have been opted out entirely for someone with a little more clear purpose for being in the tournament, like Kung Lao.

Talk shit about the MK movie (I hated both for the most part) but they gave a lot more emphasis on who Liu Kang was, his purpose and motivation for being in this whole mess.... MK picks and chooses things to focus on now-a-days, and really, they should focus on making the following info about every character accessible whether in game modes like Story Mode, or Ladder or in the Krypt or whatever: why they're here, who they want to kill, and how it all ends.

That alone can motivate one to try out a character instead of just having us glance at a character before going over and picking Scorpion or Subby again.

I disagree with you AND Lombardi. A good storyline, fun gameplay, and unique, changing personality is more important. Those reasons alone explain why the winner Liu Kang is not half as popular as Sub-Zero, Reptile, or even Cage.

To each his own though.

Disagree with me all you want, but as a football fan, I know for a FACT that calling Lombardi a liar is SEVERELY disrespectful.

Your troll level is over 9000, that is a fact. ;) Every man can be deemed a liar, no one is exempt from such a declaration.

Please don't compare Superman to Liu Kang, Superman doesn't always win all the time hell there are numerous of people who can not only go toe to toe with but can beat the crap out of him with little effort, also the man is far from perfect there are many times where his views are challenged and there are many times where he is in the wrong. Superman is many things but what the man is not is flat or one dimensional

im all up for totally new characters but im not a fan of the ones theyve introduced so far. to be honest i dont like what im seeing with the game so far as it does not look like the developers are expanding on the work they did for MK9 and have thrown all that to one side and decided to take their Injustice model and turn it into MK. cant fool me though

so i dont think theyre doing the right thing by following their injustice engine rather than following up from their MK9 engine.

injustice killed MK

I agree and disagree!! Ed said there is so many new things in this game... All I have seen is Injustice with fatalities and MK9 x-rays! I know the game is still in its early stages of development but.... hopefully we see MORE NEW things coming into play! The only NEW thing I have heard is that there will be a new "ality". oh wow..... that's NOT impressive at all! I do however love the environmental objects you can use and the general speed of Injustice, so I am really happy that MKX will incorporate both! It would be nice if Level transitions were in MKX, but they basically said it wasn't realistic for MK characters to do that since they are not as powerful as Superman and other "superheroes", lol, like X-rays aren't MORE brutal and unrealistic (specifically Cassie's x-ray).. anywayssssssssssssss, its all good but one thing FORSURE is there better be Tag-Team mode this time around! it was unfortunate that Injustice didn't have the added option. Lol, that reason alone actually prevented all my gamer friends (and I mean ALL of them) from purchasing or even getting into Injustice! The first day I bought the game my friends came over to play, and when they saw that there was only 1 vs. 1, they all literally boo'd the game and said "PUT IN TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2"... Lol.,, they really loved MK9 Tag Team mode...

Sorry to break it to you kid, but I can compare Supes to Liu, or anyone for that matter. Freedom of speech. And you think I don't know my shiiiz? Of course Supes LOSES, but does he ever really lose? Like Batman, DC uses him to reel in the money and makes sequels and add-ons to their stories whether they make their comebacks and get revenge and that cliche nonsense. He is pretty flat, and so is Spider-Man if you read the older comics. Its barely now that, like Liu, their creators are making them less one-dimensional.

Sorry if you do not agree, but it is my opinion.

Also, are you saying Liu Kang does not lose? He actually does almost lose a couple times (MK9 story he gets his first bruise against Ermac, a challenge maybe? He is seen getting beat up by Sheeva in the MK9 cutscene and Kung Lao intervenes... Liu Kang dies to Quan Chi and Tsung, and to Raiden... gets beat up by Shang in MKA introduction... yadda yadda... then you go into the comics too there's also more instances....)

Liu Kang's views are challenged too!

So buddy, before you actually try to say two characters are un-alike, think again. All artists steal from each other, and Ed Boon is a hugh DC fan so he obviously has his influences.
I do respect your opinion though.
