No Alternate Costumes?

I wonder how they will handle the "aged" character thing. If we do get say aged Liu Kang who is now 50-60 years old, I hope his younger version is an alternate costume. I REALLY REALLY hope they don't make the young version and old version two separate characters
 
Liu Kang is dead, so he is now ageless. Kano obviously will be the aged guy, maybe Johnny Cage as well, if he is in. Sonya will not make it, cause nobody really want to see 60 years old Sonya. All other Earh fighters were killed.
 
From what I've seen so far, the variations only add subtle changes that in no way should affect the possibility of having the same effects on different costumes/skins.

For example, Ninjitsu Scorpion only adds swords to the costume, which would be easily implemented onto alternate skins. Similarly, Inferno Scorpion adds fire to his appearance, which also wouldn't affect the appearance of an alternate skin.

I just assumed that old versions of characters would be separate variations. Like you could choose C*o*c*k*y (apparently that is a curse word now even thought it's not) Johnny Cage, Green Powered MK9-Ending Johnny Cage or Old Johnny Cage. Not necessarily different skins.

Agreed. I don't see Kano being the only "aged" mortal either (if Kano is even in).
As for Sonya or Johnny, I disagree.
Johnny is the South Park Kenny of MK who always dies, so my money is on Sonya coming back and Johnny getting another death.
Maybe Kano kills Johnny sometime after Johnny has trained Cassie, to try to get to Sonya.

Parker and Stone stopped killing Kenny frequently in 2003 (though they still do from time to time) because they gave up on trying to find ways to kill him on every episode; and this was even after originally deciding to kill him off permanently at the end of the 2001 season. They eventually explained him coming back frequently by having his parents join some Ktulu cult before he was born, resulting in a curse where he's reborn every morning after he dies and grown to his chronological age as though nothing happened.

And Vogel discontinued the "Kill Johnny Cage" thing in DA, if I'm not mistaken.

Nope.
Cage was presumed dead in MKvsDC (his tomb was in the Graveyard Stage in MKvsDC) further continuing the dead Johnny Cage joke, and the MK9 intro showed Cage's head cut off (meaning that he didn't survive Armageddon either).

MK9 is the only game in this generation of consoles, where Cage survived.
If he also survives MK X is yet to be seen.

I will laugh so fu***** hard if Cage kicks the bucket five minutes into MK9's story mode. Much like Annihilation.

I'll be all like : "Sorry, ujustgotcaged...."

I wonder if they'll do it by different game stores like they did MK9.

I picked up the Sick MK9 statute. Came with all the [ninja] alt costumes:twisted:

I'm actually hoping for another "ultra pack" and there is no question if it's another statue is ALL Scorpion:twisted::hail:

As for the alt costumes in MKx. Very likely, too much of an obvious must to not add to the game...
 
I hope they have an edit mode, to perhaps customize the non-unique features of each variation. A color-edit would especially rock. I personally would love to play as a blue Scorpion.
 
Seeing as how the klassic skins in MK9 made it harder for them to balance, I don't know how this will work out.
Didn't the MK3 skin for Cyrax still have invisible bombs or something like that?

More skins tells me that they'd have to balance it more between all 3 variations.
I'd love to have the klassic UMK3 masked Sub-Zero as a compatibility pack costume, but if it's going to cause too many balancing issues or more trouble between all 3 Sub-Zero variations, then I don't want that.
