SC matches are drastically shorter than MK matches though.
2 hits in a Soul Calibur game does the same percentage as a full bnb in MK

I pretty much agree with BBBLP on this stance (weapons).
I also thought that the way that MK9 handled it was perfect.

Also, for the love of all that is great in MK, I hope that Death Traps don't ever come back.
Death Traps, IMO, are as broken as the whole weapon impale and run away tactic.
As a mechanic in MK3 or Injustice, where you uppercut / hit your opponent into another arena / room, I'm fine with that.
In no way, though, should such a move cost you the WHOLE match, as was the case with Death Traps in MK: D.

Death traps kill the fun in challenges. I also hate how one dies from the death trap in the first round and then turn back to life in the second round. That's one of the unrealistic things I hate about MK. Maybe if the person falls on a death trap and that's it for the whole match, I'd acknowledge it. But going back to life in the next round after the previous round in the same match? NO DEATHTRAPS!

That doesn't mean death traps can't be made competitive.

Don't get me wrong I hate death traps, I think that even to get them to work you need it to be a 3-D fighter. No way you can avoid being cornered on a 2-D plane without exposing yourself

Yes add weapons for those who want them.

Do it in the same style as MK4, MKDA etc, meaning, if you DONt want to use the weapons, you don't have to BUT the option is there...

Everybody's happy...

Lol that doesn't make everyone happy.

Smash bros...

Leave item on!
That way people who want to use them
Can and those Who don't, don't have to! Everyone is happy.

Nope, if you play to win you I'll always be forced to use the best tools
Whether you like them or not.

No, MK should remain their slap bass playing, fried chicken eating, woman loving, straight up kung fu fighting game of death.

No BS interactables, no weapons unless they are part of a characters special just a straight up one on one fight to the death.

Perhaps that what your gaming experience has led you to believe, but not mine...

That's what the Pro FG community has lead us to believe.

People who play at the Pro level, play to win, which is why there are so many Cyrax, Mileena and Kung Lao players in the finals of the MK9 Pro tourneys.

Play to win what? Cash? Glory?
or Play to win against other opponents? as we all do.

Then why did you ask what they play for when Araknyd already said they were pro players?

He said they "Play to Win". I asked for what exactly they are 'winning'. They get paid to play(regardless of win or lose) but what exactly are they winning.

???

He said "People who play at a Pro Level, play to win"

And they play to win money. Regardless of whether or not you are sponsored, it still feels nice to win that grand prize.

What im trying to say is, as you just quoted , "People who play at Pro Level, Play to Win."

Im not a pro level but I still play to win, one would think EVERYONE 'plays to win', as no one plays to lose.

So when he said that I got the impression that there was an alternate definition of "Play to Win".

Um 21,000, No... try 10k max for MK and thats with NRS bonus.

Sorry.
You're right.
I was mistaken.

It was $21,000 in TOTAL prize money.

Top prize was $10K.

Is that what you meant by "Play to Win" as in Play to Win tourney Prizes?

Yes.
These Pro level guys get paid thousands of dollars if they win, so they have a lot at stake.

Whereas, I play to win too, but I'm not at the skill level that these guys are at, nor compete at that highest level.
(I'd get my ass handed to me.)
