Let's talk Cosplay.

holy shit dude back at c2e2 i saw this hottie as storm. even my cousin was like damn id hit it

she had the white eyes and everything

now the bad side of seeing cosplayers is when you see like a 300 pound woman dressed as a slave leia. and dont even get me started on some of the weird shit i saw a week ago at wizard : shutters:

im just saying if people who do that choose to put themselves into that situation its fair game to critisize. tell you what since you are so 100% do whatever you want i dare you to ask out a 300 pound chick. you sure talk a big game and the question is are you willing to back that up?

face it you yourself wouldnt do it because you would have the same reaction i did so dont try to come off as some knight in shining armor defending obese 300 pound women.

look i dont mind some meat on women but dude cmon its a turnoff when some women honestly dont take care of themselves and just get huge

What's this? Put downs about body image in my cosplay thread? Kid, nobody cares what you think. I don't care, Shira doesn't care. Nemesiswontcare. Cosplayers do what they do for their own amusement, not yours. And not for the sake of your emaciated manhood either. For the love of the characters they want to portray and put time into bringing to life. For some of them, that might be the best fun they'll have all year. But I mean, according to you, the ones that don't meet your criteria are 'asking for it', right? Where've I heard that line before? Oh, wait...

I mean, you're such a fine judge of women and such, right? I bet your un-punctuated mess of of grammatical errors has all of them wanting to jump you, so you must have a pretty valid take on it, riiiight? Judging by your photos, you're some right irresistible stuff yourself, aren't you?

Get real. Take that attitude somewhere else.

i agree frey frey, i believe freddy mercury put it best, "fat bottom girls you make the rocking world go round.". cosplay is all about nerding out and enjoying yourself. not about obtaining the approval of shallow judgmental dbags.

I believe that a person should never be categorized by their size. Cosplay is for anyone and everyone. If it makes them happy then leave them to it. It probably takes most larger people , especially women , a lot of courage to go out on a limb and cosplay in front of people. Don't make them feel bad about it.

What the hell does me asking out a 300-Ib woman have to do with anything?

If I saw a 300 Ib girl with a well-done cosplay at a convention or something, I wouldn't ridicule her like you're doing, I'd congratulate her.

And I am willing to back that up, douchebag.

I HAVE done it myself.
I did it last year, as Cobra Commander at Florida SuperCon.
I wasn't super fit and a little on the heavy side, but I did it anyways because it was fun.
I'm just glad that there weren't any people being assholes about it, and people were cool with me.
Since then, I've been rigorously going to the gym and have lost about 30lbs.

Also, who are you to judge why a person is in that shape, to begin with?
Do you know what that person has been through?
Until you walk a mile in that person's shoes, you are NO ONE to judge.

I was the heaviest that I had ever been last year (when I cosplayed as Cobra Commander) due to my mom getting a f***ing lung transplant the year before and awaiting her 2nd lung, so I was going through a lot of shit, along with both of my grandfathers dying 10 days apart.
Up until 2 months before my wedding I didn't even think my mom would make it to my wedding.

I went and cosplayed as a chubbier Cobra Commander anyways and enjoyed myself because I needed to do something to cheer me up, keep me positive and get my mind off of all that stuff.

"not to sound like a dick."
Makes dick-headed statement anyways.

I did do something about it and went to the gym, but you obviously didn't read that part.

The point is, some people are heavy due to different reasons, like diseases or illnesses or other stuff that they've gone through.
I agree that if someone doesn't like their body shape, that they should try to do something about it.
That being said, the point still remains that you are no one to judge, be an asshole and make fun of them for it.

This statement made me physically sick. Some comments should never make it on a page. Have you ever been overweight or had someone close to you die? I'm sorry but this is either ignorance or you're just being a dick.

heres the difference between you and other heavy people. you wanted to get healthy so you did what you needed to do. others choose not to do anything about it and imo thats all on them and nobody is to blame.

im the same critic with drug addicts in order to get clean they have to want to get clean otherwise the whole point of rehab is pointless.

heck i will share a life story i know i will regret later. i have been diagnosed majorly depressed my whole life and yea i can be one of those guys who go nope need no help but you know what its not fun being depressed 24/7 so i did what i did and that was go on some anti depressents.

i can go on and on and say oh poor me i need attention blah blah blah but you know what? i dont because i know there are alot more people in the world who have it worse than i do so who am i to complain?

actually yes i have had someone close to me die. it was 3 days before christmas back in 2011

as close as i was to that person i had to learn to realize thats how life is .

was i upset? of course i was but i found other ways to express my grief through writting wich later on helped me get over it so quickly.

im not saying it was easy but it does go away after a wile

How do you know that the person isn't in the process of getting in shape though, when you decided to act like an asshole and make fun of her.

Do you know that getting in shape isn't an over-night process?

It took me lots of months (almost a full year) of changing my habits and starting a work-out regiment to see results.
How do you know that the person you made fun of isn't in that process?
I see lots of people who are in shape at the gym, but I also see lots of heavy people at the gym, who want to get in better shape.
They all have to start out somewhere.

they also have to stick with it dude they cant just go for 3 months and simply quit. and you know what congrats on a almost full year and no that isnt knock. you should honestly try to help people who give up to easy dude

So what?

Doesn't give you the right to tell someone "Deal with it, that's part of life." when someone they cared about passed away.

Your "depression" doesn't give you the right either. Learn to keep your shit to yourself. I attempted suicide before, but you don't see me disrespecting others.

How would you feel if your "girlfriend" died suddenly, and you tell about it in Just Talk and I just say "Deal with it."?

And don't freakin' lie. You'd be pissed as hell. It's rude, and extremely disrespectful.

name one time i ever used depression as an excuse for what i say.

since commander was sharing a life story i decided to share one myself. i never suggested that my story is more important so quit twisting shit dude

did you honestly see me say depressed people have it harder than big people? no you havent so go fvck yourself.

You just brought up your stupid ass baby story of depression, and claiming that life is hard, deal with losses.

You're a real piece of shit.

First you were just a dumbass, but now you're a pile of dogshit. Show some respect for the dead, douchebag.

and yet where is that argument for bloomberg?

simply put this is his way of saying sorry you are to fat to ride the elevator. maybe you should watch the news once in a wile you would learn a thing or to on how bloomberg is at war with obesity

Next Steps in Bloomberg’s Obesity Fight: Up the Stairs

Mr. Bloomberg said on Wednesday that he had issued an executive order requiring city agencies to promote the use of stairways and use smart design strategies for all new construction and major renovations. Mr. Bloomberg has also proposed two bills that would increase visibility and access to at least one staircase in all new buildings around the city. This would include putting up signs on the walls, especially near elevators, with one central injunction: take the stairs.
