Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

You are comparing the face with a different angle, it's never going to match.

I can rig the character and get a similar pose for a better comparison.

Yep, I had figured.
And yes, it would be awesome to see him posed like the pictures we've been seeing all our lives. :)

Hola, good friends and read their comments, so I worked corrections based on them, and consulted official pictures of MK2 and MK Trilogy.
here's baraka as identical as possible, Greetings

Restyling Tarkatan Baraka2.jpg

Ok, for better observation, will clarify that corrected:
trapeze
shoulders
chest
forearm distance (longer) - because their claws
face (obvious)
overall proportion with slight stylized

All the posts not related to MK HD REMIX were highly criticised during the previous years. People could not show their projects etc, all the links, videos to other fan made games were forbidden ("it looks interesting but move it to other thread"). And now posts about Baraka are something normal. Aren't they all off-topic?? I cannot remember Baraka in Mortal Kombat. He first appeared in Mortal Kombat II. And this thread is not about MK II HD REMIX, it as all about MK HD REMIX.

Yes, but Bleed is a key member of the MKHD Remix project and has paid his dues. This is important for his portfolio and it is related to MK2HD Remix. I'm not bothered by it since updates are slim without Bleed showing his work. Yes people have been criticized for posting music or stuff unrelated because they aren't contributers and so it derails the thread. Basically if Bleed wants to bend the rules of this thread a bit he can since he is a key contributor and will continue to contribute once he has finished his portfolio project. I know it doesn't seem fair, but then again Bleed spending his time on creating Scorpion, Sub-zero, Cage and Raiden with out payment wasn't fair either.

Then it's not fair that I write poems as part of my hobby - no one pays me for it :)
Ok ok, I just expressed my opinion and I fully understand yours. Guys I really appreciate your hard work. I will remain silent :)

good morning, let's get back to business, here is my second shot to the jumping animation..... after rendered I realized I have to fix the skinning on his chest..

hi
do this possible characters move their heads up and down when their opponents jump and crouch ?
(with head movements follow opponents movements)

Wow, this backlight makes his hair and even face look much different when he is on the top of his jump (btw it looks flickering on the top of his hair).

That's better.
Now I notice that his knees bend too abruptly at the top of the motion.
The overall speed of the animation looks good, and so does the falling motion.
Also, his right hand curls downward in a quite unnatural way.
I'd think his arms (that is, his elbows) should go up and away from the body as he hops.
I'm also not too big on the way his head wobbles. I'd rather have it stay static.

thanks for the comments, I can make the knees bend less abruptly, I can fix his right hand, I can make his arms goes up.. his head wobbles because the sprites are like that, but the problem is that the jumping animation only have 4 sprites and that's why you don't notice it

I don't know, I'd still try to do something with that wobble even if it meant deviating from the original animation.
He didn't actually perform that jump. It's four static pictures of him.
As you said, those frames may have been OK for that 4-frame animation, but at 60 FPS it doesn't look right.

Also, there's also something strange going on with his hair.
It's as if when he is in the air he looks like he had a haircut.
The hair on the back of the head looks smaller, and the hair on the top of his head looks taller.

here's my 3rd. shoot, I think changes are noticible, no head bouncing, fixed right arm, legs animation smoother, hair is not changing due to the animation.
