Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

Cal, do you think it might be a good idea to let MrMos take a pass on the statues? He's usually VERY good at improving even more on things like that.
 
DATGORO! It'd be cool to see him placed on your Warrior shrine stage along side Rayden and Scorpion/Sub just for the heck of it. I'd love to see those two get the same lighting treatment as Goro, looks great.

IIRC Bleed had Cage model almost done, so I guess his statue is next soon.
 
That's probably where we can use Mr.Mos3s image editing skills. The lighting doesn't match at all. I don't know why I didn't make the other statues look kissed with moonlight. But to be honest I'm still learning so I guess it is only natural that stuff I do today looks better than stuff I did yesterday. I'll post a screenshot of Goro in Warriors Shrine in a bit.
 
You have to increase the speed of your eyes.

Instructions for this:

1.) Step into heavy fast moving traffic.

2.) Be sure to keep your eyes on colorful fast moving cars as they move toward and away from you.

3.) Now this is where it gets technical so stay with me, as the car smashes into you and you roll up the hood, over the windshield, and into the air, be super careful to focus on the driver's eyes. After a few months in the hospital, go view this video again. I'm sure everything will look correct to you then.

Speaking for my self, critique is fine and helps but it's not something I will follow every time. Even if I think it's a good idea, I may already have something closer to the game, or I just don't feel like spending more time on it. Every so often, something may slip by...

Getting frustrated if we don't do what someone says, is pointless to me. I'm not obligated to do anything, I do this because I feel like it, but I don't feel like doing everything.

I know it's not the most amazing thing ever, there are improvements to be made. I'm getting things to a point where I think it looks alright, so that I can move along, and not have it feel like a drag.

With practice, some of these critiques will be introduced naturally in to future work.
 
I think the reason why it looks so fast is that in the arcade version there is a super slight pause when the screen does its fade to black transition. That's really it. From when the head is popped off everything is in sync. I don't think the speed is a problem, as I feel it looks pretty great. A lot less awkward than what was used for MK 9.
 
That pause in the crouch animation is something I will add in.

I'm working on the rolling head animation today, for Cage's fatality.
 
Is this going to have all the characters and stages from MK1? All the videos I've seen of it just have Sub-Zero and Scorpion fighting on the same stage.

Yep. That is just because those are the two most complete characters that we have right now. All the stages are complete except for Warrior's Shrine which needs the statues. But since the characters aren't complete yet, that might be awhile.

Johnny Cage is easily my favorite character in MK1... and MK1 Cage is my favorite Cage in MK... so I'm very exited about it and I 100% trust Bleed will do his very best on that character just like he did with Scorpion and Sub-Zero...!!!
 
I think that ppl should realize that bleed is plugging his art into his mugen engine. and lifebars and timing, and such things will be implemented by interloko. these are "tests" for sub-zero walk animation and shang tsung animation in background. but what im getting at is this is far from a demo vid of MK1HDR, these are "simple" test vids. correct me if im wrong guys.

It would be silly for bleed to waste time converting lifbars and things over to his own game, unless that is something he wants to do.
 
I changed the palette, adding some blood and bone colors to it. That way, I can have the blood right on the main sprites, without having to layer anything.

NICE! Can't wait to see Cage in action pulling this fatality off. Did you ever solve the texturing neck seam issue you were having with Cage?

I changed the palette, adding some blood and bone colors to it. That way, I can have the blood right on the main sprites, without having to layer anything.

There are a couple options.


1 = Put the entire texture on a single texture map if using normal maps.

2 = Use displacement instead of the normal map, I think that may fix the lighting issue.

And maybe some other way I haven't thought of yet.

I got all the sprites created to this point updated with the new palette. The new palette has blood and bone colors on it.

Now I have to replace what I had in mugen, that may take a full day.

It's a detail I missed at the start...
