Ultimate Mortal Kombat 9?

Mortal Kombat 9 is essentially Ultimate Mortal Kombat anyway.
It has virtually the same characters and is essentially the same game as Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, just with extra levels, moves; updated graphics and x-ray feature.

This is going to happen.



What UMK9 will include:

Belltower night, Waterfront, Kahn's Cave, Balcony, Bank, Portal, Palace Gates, Warrior Shrine.
All DLC.
New announcer (SSFIV did it).
New menus.
Brutalities.
More Stage fatalities.
Probably playable bosses.
More Challenge Tower missions.


I'd actually be very surprised if they don't make an "Ultimate" edition.
 
I'll be pissed that I spent all that money on DLC only to have a UMK9 version be $40 dollars retail, but I'll buy it. I'll just complain for a little bit to get it out of my system.

I'd be the guy *****ing about it, while in line to buy it.
 
If ppl cant understand that having a UMK9 would be much more benifical to us and NRS, then they need to get their heads checked. I love DLC just as much as everyone else, but putting out a UMK9 with more kharacters, stages, game modes, online replays, more challenges in the tower, new netcode, bunch of klassic skins and fatalities would be alot cheaper for us. If ppl want to continue buying DLC at the prices they have they would be spending a HELL of alot more money than they would if they just bought the UMK9 for $40. Think about it. You would be crazy to not want a UMK9.

You guys should die for asking for a UMK9... Everybody hates Capcom for releasing the same games over and over again, and you guys want NRS to do the same? Please, PLEASE... kill yourselves.
 
if they do release a umk9 I think they should be release about a year from now. And they should include a create a xray mode that way u can use either their assaigned xray or make one for that character that's binded by their powers. Like sonya can't teleport.

Example being jax grabing and powerboming someone then picking them up with one hand and whind the other arm and pow* right in the jaw

UMK9 would be acceptable if it came as DLC, rather than a disk... take it as an update for the game with a crapload of new features that couldn't be included in the first product, like someone mentioned above, it will include new maps, a new announcer with a more macabre voice, like MK2/3/T announcer... best one ever and best voice for Shao Kahn, IMO. Also a newer character selection screen to help the DLC chars fit better rather than opening a new column, and hopefully it will feature a remix of the UMK3 character selection music, who knows ;)

He does not care about fans at all!
All fans wants PC ver. but he does not care.
Most of the fans wants MK characters like fujin, Cyber Smoke, Mavado, Taniya, etc as DLC, he does not care and releases Freddy!!!
You American guys must talk to him 'cause he maybe hear you better than us non-Americans.
Boon must stick to tradition, the one which Tobias established, to make progress and gain more acceptability.
He must learn from Japanese producers, the ones who stick to tradition and do as fans wants, to be successful one.
another mistake in MK series, like in PS2 era, will cause huge loss of fans.

Its NOT the same game dumbass when u throw in 10 kharacters, more stages, more challenges, modes,etc.. UMK9 will be $40, if it has 10 kharacters,multiply that by $5 per khar and thats $50 just for kharacters, then u throw in all the other stuff and thats well worth it.
 
I'd rather have the stuff come via DLC.
I'm not spending $50 - $60 on a brand new MK 9 after buying the Kollector's Edition.

You've already spent $20 just getting the additional characters via DLC; that's fairly hefty. As others have pointed out, it would likely be less expensive for a new disc release than paying for everything via DLC. Though really, the only way to know for certain which way is less expensive (DLC or a new disc) is knowing, in absolute terms, how much DLC there will be before the next game is released.
