Just saw Rains vignette looks pretty cool and I cant wait to play him tuesday thats only a few days away guys! As far as the fatalities go Ill say this the explosion looks bad ass. His decap looks kinda lazy but for brand new fatalities they have to do mokap and animations and maybe it was too expensive. But for a game that was built and became infamous for its brutal finishers they've kind of taken a back seat to the gameplay. Which is an achievement for NRS as far as Im concerned. Not saying that they arent great because these are the best looking fatalities in the whole of the MK series. But before they stood above the gameplay itself. And now the gameplay is up to par with the fatalities. NRS has achieved something great with this one and Ill cut em some slack when it comes to a few lame ass fatalities because the gameplay itself kind of makes up for it.

Yes, the fatality isn't too original, but neither were any of the fatalities in Mortal Kombat. I like the Water blade, to be honest.

Love the vignette. It definitely gives Rain some personality and I hope he remains evil

Well, the vignette leaves room for argument that in the "reboot" (and I use that term loosely with MK9) Rain may not be a Demigod, he may have just been a skilled Edenian who acquired his powers from Shao Kahn when he betrayed the Resistance and pledged his "allegiance" to the emperor.

Nah, Im sure he had the water powers before that, that's why he was named Rain when a child, I think, what are the odds that you call a kid Rain and ends up being a water and lightning manipulator? lol

Sorry to bring down everyone's hopes, but I'd swear they won't change a single bit of his story. At least they don't miss he's adopted.

I honestly was hoping that one of his fatalities is he just drowns you. Like makes a water sphere over their head and just stands there as the claw and scream in the water trying to breath and then they just collapse. It'd be simple and have some pretty violent imagery.

And YAY! He has a raiden teleport. It looks the same just with water effects. :D Glad to see they over powered him to hell (admit it's true! lol)

Well, say Smoke and Sub-Zero for an example aren't really the true identities behind Smoke and Sub-Zero, they're code names given to them by the Lin Kuei. Rain could have been code named at some point by either the Resistance or Kahn himself, NRS hasn't made it clear if he could create and manipulate his entire life like they did with those two or three if you're looking at Smoke along with both Bi-Han and Kuai Liang. In that sense, NRS needs to knock out the ambiguity there because they haven't refined the powers of Edenians with the female cast at all. Kitana can teleport, Jade can become immune to projectiles, Sindel... well we'll give it that her powers come from being fused with Shang Tsung, and Tanya can shoot fireballs if I remember correctly.

I think people are too fussy. Since when did cutting someones head off become boring? I'll enjoy it.

in the vignettes of scorpion and sub zero, they used their real names

I agree. There are worse fatalities, I think that cutting the opponent's head with a water blade is good stuff.
Skarlet's and Raiden's fatalities for example are really bad.

The video says that the Resistance called him Rain.

You're right, I guess I just find it strange they show him in the motion comic-like scenes as basically a regular member of the Edenian Resistance using a sword opposed to using his powers before becoming the fighter we see him as in MK9 (and previous games, too)

The chances are huge when Ed Boon is the one who names you! =)

Whaaa? Skarlet had great fatalities. They were ****ing sick. lol Raiden's do suck, though.

Anyway... GREAT vignette. I've waited so long for Rain. And soon enough, he will be MINE!!

Make It Rain was good in concept, but it does seem lacking in the final presentation especially when we know they have guts to use for that particular animation when she cuts the stomach open - yet we got chunks poring out of the the opponent instead.

I agree, that fatality started off lookin great...but in the end, I felt cheated lol. I kinda felt like that about Kenshi's second also. They should have showed him throwing with force, the whole slow motion thing was pretty anti-climatic. His first is one of the best in the game though!

His fatalities look weak ass hell!!!! sorry.........This is RAIN for god's sake. Can't we come up with a couple better fatals than ones that look like quan chi's and Stryker's
