What would he be?

Would he be a ninja or robot? And for that matter, would his klassic ninja outfit be from MK2? Im just thinking since Smoke didn't appear in MK1, and since he was both a robot AND a ninja in MK3, his klassic could qualify as a robot skin....
 
I'm thinking he will get an MK1 Klassic costume like the other ninjas. No, he wasn't in MK1, but Ermac wasn't an official character at the time either and he has an MK1 costume.

I'm also not sure if they plan to release MK2-3 ninja alts, so they're probably going to use the MK1 palette swap design for Noob and Smoke Klassics rather than create MK2-3 Klassics specifically for them.

No, they are MK1. The only reason why you don't really see the quilt pattern on the MK1 costumes is because of the low res graphics back then. Boon confirmed this. The masks in MK2 were like paintball masks also.

Smoke will get a MK1 style retro costume, and costumes don't change gameplay except for Cyrax.

Agreed. I've posted a number of responses to this effect, the gauntlets, shin guards, masks, and hoods are all distinctly MKI. Go to the MK wiki and compare the MKI and MKII costumes with the classics in this game. The only thing that doesn't scream MKI is the quilted pattern and that's because, as Reaver stated, the resolution wasn't sufficient to show it back in MKI.

Back on-topic: I think if Smoke gets a classic costume, it'll be the same MKI-style palette swap the other ninjas got. I'm guessing that if anything Cyber-Smoke related gets released it'll just be a completely separate character.

Klassic = ninja/human Smoke. His first appearance was in MK2 as a ninja.
Robo Smoke is different. And I would assume he would either be a pal swap of Sub, Cyrax, or Sektor.

No man. Smoke will not have an MK1 palette swap costume. He will have his MK3/UMK3 robot costume as his classic costume download. The reason being is because Robo-Smoke and Human-Smoke are one in the same character. Its just that he used to be human, and then was turned into a cyborg right after. Look at Cyber Sub-Zero (Bi-Han)! Hes NOT the same as the Sub-Zero (Kuai Liang) in the game, and that is why he is his own character! Also Cyborg-Smoke will have exactly the same moves as Human Smoke currently does, except it will just look different (animation wise). It will even play the same too, same speed in frame-animations. He will NOT have his harpoon or Sektor teleport punch either!

Absolutely WRONG! Human Cyrax and Robo Cyrax play exactly the same. The only Look different in visuals!

When will you Understand that SZ and CSZ are the same person? both are Kuai Liang! Did you ever play the Story mode??

Why did you think the Lin Kuei abducted SZ during the tournament? to do a pijama party? No, to turn him into a cyborg.

So Sub-Zero's alternate is Bi-Han? Thats frickin awesome! Also I was going to say though... Why do you think that Cyber Smoke will be his own character? Isnt he the same as Human smoke but transformed into a robot?...

This. Cyber Smoke was his own character in every game he has been in, so why the hell would he be reduced to a mere alternate skin? DLC has nothing to do with story, so they can easily say that he is a joke/non-canon character like Human Smoke was in the original timeline. If Cyber Subby was his own character, then so will Cyber Smoke. Him being only an alt would be a completely wasted opportunity. Fans want him to be his own character, period. And in Ed Boon's DLC tweet back in January when he asked us fans the order of preference for a DLC character, Cyber Smoke was one of them. If it were going to be just a costume, then Boon wouldn't have mentioned him along with other characters.

Well C-Smoke needs some moves human Smoke doesnt have (harpoon, tele-uppercut), also they need different gameplay style and we already saw that the human-ization of Sektor and Cyrax as alts looks retarded specially the teleport moves...

The ONLY game where Cyber-Smoke and Human Smoke were BOTH selectable on the select screen was in MK Trilogy! Thats NOT every single game! In UMK3, Human Smoke was only selectable using HP+HK+BLK+RUN+BACK (in the beginning of the round with Robot Smoke) but YET, he was the same person as Robo-Smoke in the end!

EDIT* = I thinkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk that Robo Smoke and Human smoke were both separately selectable in MK:Armageddon also, but I cant remember... oh perhaps Robo was just an alternate for Human Smoke

If Cyber Smoke is released as his own character, then I really HOPE he has his Sektor Teleport Punch, and Harpoon! Oh but please PLEASE NRS, do not have his earth detonation fatality... that was just so gay!
