Who do you guys think is the cheapest/most abused character is mk9? This isn't a complaint thread by any means, just want to gather some opinions. In my opinion, Ermac and smoke are the ones based on my experience. I know Raiden (my main) will get some hate, I agree partially, I have come across some Raiden players who do 0 combos and literally use the electric fly like 30 times a match, but I also have played some who master him, and he's not cheap at all. Your thoughts...

Abused? Raiden. But the "noob" characters are Scorpion, Noob, and Ermac. They aren't overpowered or broken, just very easy to use.

Agree with noob saibot, I wish he wasn't because he's such a bad ass character, but he has almost no midscreen combos and he's made to abuse his teleport and shadow moves.

Noob Saibot is not easy to use. You can't win any match spamming shadows all the time...
The cheapest character is Kano. There are guys that just spam upball and you can't do anything because of the lag :/

Smoke is mainly for noobs and is easy to fight. Pick Sub-Zero and keep the distance. Block his stupid cloud which doesn't hurt you at all. Then make a slide and start a close combo. After your combo a Smoke player usually does the teleport. Block and punish. Then you keep distance again and repeat this tactic.
Scorpion and Ermac are also easy to use but very difficult to fight against. I think Scorpion IS overpowered because of his speed and damage. His teleport is very quick and difficult to block online because of the lag. His hellfire is unblockable so you can't wait for his attacks if you keep a distance. You have to keep moving and Scorpion repeats his teleport with a quick combo after it. Sometimes you can't jump over his spear. It hits your leg but then it appears in your chest.

Ermacs teleport looks like his projectile at first. It's difficult to react then.

Smoke. Clearly, a lot of Smoke players currently online, who were not never before fan of the character, just pick him because they want to win the cheap way, being far, spamming Smoke Clound , and teleporting anytime you hit them and they are desperate for wake-up attacks.

Anyway, they (noobs/cheap players) don't know what to do if you , somehow, nullify/block Smoke Cloud, Teleport attempts, and that annoying pop-up juggle start 3 hit combo that Smoke uses after a sucessful smoke cloud bomb ..... so, basically , your chances to win rise up if you don't fall in Smoke tricks ......

Noob, Smoke and EasyMac are newbie/spammers' favorites for sure.

Not saying the characters are cheap. Just that really shitty players like to pick them up due to them being so easy to use and all..

I chose noob. I mean its his name :p. He's my main tho and he can be quite deadly if used correctly. Sometimes ill fight someone 3 matches as csz and if I'm losing I switch to noob. They often cannot handle the gameplay change. Bu I see too many people just spam his clones and tele (his tele isn't that great imo I don't use it much too risky) instead of proper zoning. Heaven forbid if they'd use his upknee once in a while!

Maybe for the "noob" characters, we can have a meter below their health bar. This meter will determine how many times a character can use their "cheap" moves (Smoke's Smoke Cloud, Ermac's Force Lift etc.) The meter will recharge over time, and will allow three uses of their cheap moves without having to recharge. Not only will it prevent spamming, it will also add a major learning curve that these
characters sorely need. Players will be forced to economize the usage of thier special moves.

That is a horrible ideA.

I think it's just about how the player uses each character. Personally, while playing online I have run into more Raiden noobs than anyone. I think Smoke is a little harder to use than you guys are giving him credit. He has no high/low mix-ups and his smoke bomb and teleport both hit high even though they look like they should hit low. If you can block high you can block almost everything he can throw at you. You can tell a Smoke noob if they just keep throwing bombs and teleports at you even though you keep blocking them. A good player will be able to adapt, and that goes for each of these characters.

Come on man, spamming isn't a problem in this game. Spammers are free wins if you're half decent and know the mechanics. Just dash block, bait and punish. Not hard at all to deal with spammers.

If your opponent is spamming, it just makes them that much predictable and shitty. Spamming is like noob tactics 101 and only works on the lowest levels of play. Any good player will block and punish your ass hard if you try to spam mindlessly.

"Cheap" is the cry of the scrub. A term only used by noobs when they don't know how to deal with stuff.

Noob char as in most used? Or something that people can exploit damage without much means?
I see a lot of smokes, and he's extremely easy to punish. His teleport can hurt, as well as being punished accidentally by it.
But teleport>projectiles.
But honestly, in exploiting damage, Ermac takes the cake.
His combos can easily go up to 30% with three-four commands. Wake up Ermacs can also go through that much damage as well.
If pros play as him, hai thar 40%+ combos, as well as being able to successfully punish into deadly combos.
Then again, my play style is somewhat rough and aggressive, so Ermac is naturally one of the khars I can have trouble with, although new guys are somewhat easy to pick off and kill.

That's my general opinion.

Smoke by a long shot! people overuse his teleport and smokecloud. I know you can block the teleport but it is so fast and most noobish players won't respect the teleport block and overuse it leading to their demise or yours if you don't block accordingly. Noob isn't cheap. His gameplay relies on zoning while some players might abuse his shadows it is vital to win a match with noob because of his slow start up combos. If you can get around noobs shadow and rush him down then he is easy. DASH BLOCK for you players that say noob is a noob, duh noob is a noob because he is easy to control for noobs but is hard to control if your not spamming his shadow moves.

Agreed.

The cheapest characters (IMO) are Scorpion, Smoke and Ermac.

Scorpion = People love to abuse the Spear, Teleport and Hell Flame moves.

Smoke = People love to abuse the Teleport and Smoke bomb moves.

Ermac = People love to abuse the Telekinetic Lift and Telekinetic Toss.

i cant tell you how much i cringe when i face an Ermac player when they use forcelift forcepush. Thats how you know they are a noob. Seriously?? go into practice mode and throw a teleport in there or something godamn get creative and don't just mimick the other noobs online -___-
