Aside from that... What about people like me, who pay for ps+. This is time that could be spent playing the stuff they offer me, but I can't. Not saying I'd be too pissed either way. But some compensation (be it 1 free game, or some store points) would be GREATLY appreciated.

Oh, little fact: i didn't log on PSN for approximately....8 months. I didn't even know PSN+ came out. I obviously retract all i've said. well, at least in regards to those who paid for the service, i apologize. You're clearly not getting your money's worth and reparations must be made. All the other parasites really have no room to complain. Sony, a corporate juggernaut, is kind enough to provide its customers with a free service.

Here is the most recent update from Sony on the matter. Your primary threat from this data breach will be in future social engineering attempts for personal information that can be used for credit card or identity theft. Since the credit card data was encrypted, it may not be usable unless the hackers are able to decrypt it, a process that can take a day or take a century dependent on the strength of the encryption used.
Their blurb about the security code is true, however, keep in mind not all services may require that security code to run your card.

I feel the same way... I got PS+ so I could play the MK demo and the Socom 4 Beta and still have a month or so left in my subscription... (3 month subscription)... what about that!
To answer the question of the Trophies we earn while not getting online... they will be synchronized as soon as you go online.

Sony has confirmed that it hopes to restore some fuctionality to the PSN service by next Tuesday in a new statement on the PlayStation Blog.
"Our employees have been working day and night to restore operations as quickly as possible, and we expect to have some services up and running within a week from yesterday. However, we want to be very clear that we will only restore operations when we are confident that the network is secure."
Dated April 27, the update posted by Patrick Seybold (Sr. Director, Corporate Communications & Social Media), would put the estimated return date for PSN services as May 3, meaning that the service will have been offline for two weeks.
Although which services will be coming back online next week is unclear, Sony has stated they are working on new security measures for the future, as well as seeking out those responsible for the breach, confirming they "are working closely with a recognised technology security firm in order to find those responsible for this criminal act, no matter where in the world they might be located."
Hackers - lock your doors. Sony's coming after you.
