Right. This is just a smack on the face to Sony, nothing more. I don't see any long term problems as a result of this, just a temporary annoyance to prove a point.

Sony deserves this because of that lawsuit on Hotz, I've been pissed about that myself since I heard about it. PSN members don't deserve this, but the idiots running Sony do. This is coming from someone who owns both systems, so I'm not just hating on the PS3 and it's fans.

There's an enormous amount of irony to be had here. Hotz hacks the PS3 because he felt the removal of OtherOS was wrong as it was a publicly promoted feature of the PS3 which technically constitutes false advertising but doing so got him slapped with a subpoena.

So a rebellious group of internet hackers take down the PSN over it - essentially attacking Sony for removing the feature by, in fact, removing another feature. :P

im pretty sure its more than one guy, theyd have 2 go 2 court & be prosecuted & other crap. but im on the edge on whose side 2b on. i'll just keep dreaming about pretty pink shoes :D

What about his IP thingy? I am pretty sure if Pat owned Youtube he and the MODs kan track them down from their Youtube account in a heartbeat.

You give off a random IP and random address.

These guys are too good to be caught by an IP address. I am no computer wiz, but I know there's ways that a person with even my computer knowledge can hide an IP address from YouTube, forums, or whatever.
