Rated Mature for Strong Language & Partial Nudity?

The ESRB rating doesn't necessarily mean the characters in the game will be the ones dropping the strong language.

God of War I - III are all rated with "Strong Language" and since the game is based on Greek Mythology, there is no cussing whatsoever. What the ESRB rating is referring to with the God of War series, is the developer documentaries in which a bunch of developers drop F-Bombs and other various cuss words.

More than likely the game will come with unlockable documentaries and there will be a few cuss words throughout.
 
The partial nudity shouldnt even be discussed at this point because as Ricochetmatt said, the women are barely wearing any clothes. Its obvious, so please drop it. What we should speculate about is what caused this game to get a strong language descriptor. I havent seen any interviews with the MK team where anyone has cussed, so I dont know about that one. We shall see in game I guess.
 
I dont know.....the rating description didnt surprise me. "Partial Nudity" well, of course. Have you seen Mileena? Now think about her after she loses a match.
 
as far as the language goes, its very possible that kamal is right with the documentary thing and I wouldn't be suprised if characters like stryker, jax, sonya and kano cursed here and there too. Stryker is a cop, jax and sonya are military and kano is a scumbag so it would seem kind of fitting.
 
I was excited to see the ESRB rating thingy there. Presumably, these are games for adults. Nobody should be shying away from big boy words in games where the blood and guts flow so liberally. Same with nudity. We're not gonna go blind.

Agreed, I have never understood why slicing a man in half is on pre-order but boobs are a big no no.

I cant believe it only got a standard M rating...looks more harsh then that! Wonder what the rating will be in Australia???

I really think the partial nudity is because of the clothes being ripped and torn like many have said, which i think is sexy ahahah
 
I'm going to agree with what was said earlier... since then x-rays remove the clothes and go black and white, x-ray moves on the females would show there boobs, thus the partial nudity.

As far as having full fledged nudity in the game... Yes this is pretty much an adult game, but in my opinion, if you want porn surf the internet. Everything in your life doesn't have to involve naked girls. You people would be saying hell no if NRS release something along the lines of a male kombatants dick hanging out.

Would you all be desiring nudity if when Cage did his fatality he ripped a guys pants off before delivering his **** punch? I think not.

Plus, they are computer generated "females"... while they may be aesthetically attractive, they aren't real. If you have to have something in every game you play that will give you a boner, then I find that really pathetic.

Just my opinion though.

A naked woman isn't always porn, and enough nerds sat through Wathcmen without running out of the theatre.

Ever seen Eastern Promises? There's a very brutal fight in that, one of the best I've seen in any movie, and the fact that it was between two nude males didn't turn me gay or make me vomit or whatever. I'm not saying they should do that in Mortal Kombat of course. Just that if they did, it wouldn't be inappropriate for an adult audience.

By the way, you're calling every dude who doesn't want to instantly jack his shaft every time they see a nipple pathetic. Do you think anyone in ancient Greece said, 'You know, whoever made all these naked statues must have been some kind of lonely masturbating sex pervert.' The same thought process would say that anyone who likes fatalities should start watching snuff films, or just start killing people.

I simply said that if everything you do in your life (ergo playing this game) has to have some form of nudity, that is what makes you pathetic. But nobody said everything in their life had to have nudity. So, when you were calling people pathetic, you meant some other people somewhere else, right? I did read your post. You used the word 'you' a lot. 'You' and 'you people.' But no, you meant 'you' hypothetically. The 'you' in this case was a person, I suppose, not in this forum reading your post. You implied that the only purpose for nudity in a video game would be for pornographic purposes. My point was that the concepts of sexuality, nudity and pornography, though of course not mutually exclusive, are also not intrinsically related.

But to be fair, you're right, I did put words in your mouth. So, in your own words, would you actually say that the only aesthetic purpose for a nude female figure is pornography?
