So it looks like there may be some sort of Co-op mode!?!?

Maybe it's an Endurance Match-styled mode, in which two people team up on one machine while battling another team online, when the first player dies the second jumps in.
 
That would be the best thing about MK9 for me. It could work like Tekken Tag Tournement. Like if I play is Cage or Nightwolf. If I win with Cage, than I get his ending.
 
"Mortal Kombat introduces a number of game modes as well as an online experience. Up to 4 players can battle "tag-team"- 2 players can team up in the new "Co-op Arcade Mode" or compete against another team online."

From my understanding it seems you can do arcade mode with a friend AND go online and do 2v2 against another 2 people. So I guess this pretty much confirms online tag-team.

That's awesome, It's gonna be a lot of fun.

Although I'm sure some people will make it real annoying
 
I wonder if the Co-Op Arcade is only local or if you can play online also? It would be really fun to play Arcade on the highest difficulty setting with a friend online.
 
I wonder if the Co-Op 2-on-2 will be local, as well.

Meaning, 3 other people over my house for a BBQ, playing in teams of 2-on-2
 
as some have already said it sounds like playing together with a friend through arcade.
Plus i hope that endurance mode this time around is facing a tag-team not just killing the first player then the second will appear
 
I've been wanting this in an MK game for a long time. Brings a whole new dynamic when two people have to work together to win.
