trust me 2 months after release every one will be pointing out the flaws a few of us have been talking about...A new dev team with fresh ideas would have been better....yet they scrap every idea that is better....like the guy who did the redesign vincet price or some thing? they didnt want his ideas! those ideas were the freshest and darkest things ever to grace mk and could have taken it back to the real dark gritty feeling it is meant to have! but no...we get a vibrant cartoony joke...with patheticly over done designs scorpion just looks stupid! nightwolf looks to plain an nice.... cage is wearing glasses while fighting....jax has a gun....sonya looks like a vegas stripper whore....

You are just bashing the game with no rhyme or reason now.

I created a 'MK'ers Most Wanted Wishlist'. It covers what MK'ers from TRMK, MKO, Official MK site, have been asking/requesting for the most.

This game could be really good instead of quite good.

Guys,
Don't get me wrong, I am upset because there are so many things being done right that veer this game away from the "sins of its fathers" that these other problems, glitches, or oversights should not exist. That is why I point out these seeming non-important aspects that bother me. I do not feel I should fall into the category of nit-picking so much as critiquing it. I WANT to see MK 2011 succeed on ALL fronts. Not just one or the other. The "this or that" mentality is what has drowned the franchise for the past 10+ years. Saying that you will pay $60.00 for the best steak in town (the game) and you'd like to try a couple of the side dishes too (the DLC to come) does not make it wrong for me, as the buyer, to want it to be the best damn steak in town. But if there is too much gristle on the steak then the rest of the steak doesn't seem so great anymore. The excuse of "well at least you have something to eat that isn't turd" does not, for me, make me feel better.

I love a lot of the music I have heard so far, I really like the designs and backgrounds on the levels. I actually love Mileena's fight intro and I am loving the character specific win animations. I dig the hell outta the x-ray moves, I like a lot of the new moves I've seen, I am loving the idea of multiple and directional throws per character. I like most of the costumes I've seen, and I dig the direction of the return of custom combos. There's so much to love that it is upsetting, to me, to see attention not being given to ALL areas of the game. I don't want to make enemies on this site, I want to make lots of friends, share ideas, and voice my opinions. I want to respect everyone and be respected, but I know that won't happen. But please don't mistake me as a foe.

Certain physics in the game aren't good, and will be annoying in-game if it isn't fixed in the final version. Things like all of the female's hair (you can even tell from screenshots that the physics aren't changed), and certain clothes and objects on the other characters. From the latest vignette of Mileena, it still isn't fixed yet. Hopefully they change it.

Edit-
In some videos, for a few frames, her hair turns into a floating tube or something. That's really bad. Hair should have gravity and actually flow and fall. The physics in current versions of Maya and 3d Max are much more improved than they were a few years ago where these problems would be passable, so there's no excuse. It doesn't take much time at all to fix this.

I see then. Carry on. :P

I did notice the fatalities are just basically slice, dice and serve on rice. I would like more personalized with special powers fatalities. Maybe they are saving those for later.

to you guys that complaining about the fatalities, I think they are doing what they can, in a reasonable amount of time. Even if there was just one fatality per character, and there is at least 2, and assuming that there are going to be around 26 fighter in the game, and each fighter has something different, that would be 1352 individual fatalities that they would have to painstakingly render and animate. That would take a significant amount of time to do. A very long time to do.

Just ask "Piranha Soldier" how long it took him to do just one fighter combination, and he is "faking" it in the videos. It just wouldn't be tangible or even reasonable to expect them to animate a separate fatality for each fighter combination.

Of course throwing on some special effects to make it look good is a lot less work then rendering and animating. Some people seem to think it is as easy to program omgwtfbbq awesome fatalities then providing an idea like Piranha Soldier does. I can only imagine the pain the programmers go through, screams converted into ASCII lol.

I don't know where you are getting this 1352 individual fatalities from, though.

EDIT: Oh, I get it. For each character twice. I'm sure they don't have to go through the process of re-doing it when they use it on every character, but I may be wrong.

26 fighters X 26 fighters= 676 fatalities 676 X 2 fatalities=1352 fatalities

I could be wrong, I am not very good at math. Perhaps the formula would be different?

Where do you get 1352 fatalities from???
Nothing has been said about tag team fatalities.
Pretty sure that they aren't going to do tag team fatalities for 2-on-2 mode.
Besides, Ed Boon mentioned before (on twitter), that he did about 40 fatalities in 1 day.
Assuming there are 26 characters, as you said, there should be about 70 fatalities.

2 - 3 fatalities per character, and about 5 - 7 stage fatalities.

Compared to everything else (special moves, X-Ray moves, 2-on-2 tage team moves, Story Mode, Arcade mode, Challenge Tower Mode), fatalities seem like it would take the least time to animate.

Because I want to see how many times you will post in a thread that is clearly not intended for you. By all means, please create a thread for how cool the game is, highlighting all the coolness, and how cool everything is instead of lurking in this thread throwing rocks.

When you've loved an IP for as long as I have, and have hoped for a stellar return to the gaming forefront for said favorite IP, as I have, then you will have your answer. But seeing as you aren't even old enough to buy this game that is coming out without a parent there to get it for you, I realize you were still sperm when the true MK games were ruling the local arcades. So please have a tad of respect for those of us that have loved the game from the beginning. I have the right to my opinion because I love the originals so much and am still hoping for a grade A game to take up the honor of the greatest MK game.

Haha, I actually didn't see this post. It wasn't addressed to you really, it was addressed to Spader's whining.

Ironically, I was playing MKI and II on the Genesis at 6/7 years old. My parents didn't really have a problem with me playing it. (my dad is a gamer too) I played it a couple of times in the arcade, but not as much as you lot obviously. And lol @ the ERSB. Seriously, no one even enforces that shit any more. I walked into a shop as a 12 year old and bought a 17+ game without the cashier even batting an eyelid. And they wonder how kids get their hands on these games...

But when we bring age into the question, who am I to argue with your obviously more vastly experience? Well, I actually was respecting you. I wish I was born when MK was in its prime. I missed out, somewhat. I hope this game will feel like the stellar games you played in your teenage years or whatever.

EDIT: Damn, I remember this topic being about Kitana's hair or something... hmm...

The game looks awesome comparing it to games like Tekken and Street Fighter, those look cartoony, but MK gives a more realistic look. But yeah, some fixes need to be made to make it just plain perfect, although nothing is perfect in life so, we'll see what happens.

Yes, if you consider the past 3 MK games' graphics, hair, gameplay, fatalities, you name it, I think this iteration of MK will be a "quantum leap" of an improvement for the series. I could not be more excited. I wouldn't worry, given the media's buzzing about the new MK and feedback from fans who have already played it, I think the game will be the best MK ever.

honestly, does anybody care about these simple-minded complaints?nothing is perfect including the ones that are not buying the game because of inperfections, what happened to playing and liking a game because you enjoy it,every game has their own fighting style and look, you cant make soul caliber mk cause its not,and im glad mk has minor character flaws to remind people they not REAL!!!cant speak for everybody but im more worried about gameplay, control and feel, then hair, boots and breast, but hey thats just me though

Spader,

Anyway Spade, let us hope for hope's sake that we are completely wrong about these doubts and that the game is, in fact, a marvelous achievement that returns Mortal Kombat to the 'respected' class of the game shelf.

i hope its not what you guys expected so yall wont have a reason to come back
